Norwood's on Fire
you said "Way not to take the high road, son".....A person who was independently found to have been racially abused was faced with the person independently found to have committed the racially abuse, and offered to look him in his eyes and shake his hand. How much higher can you get? After that I would have been perfectly fine with Evra knocking the **** out then and there. And I'm a Man City fan.
Let's play devil's advocate. Suarez denies making racist remarks to Evra. If he's telling the truth, why the **** would he shake Evra's hand. Only those two now what was actually said. If Evra has lied and got SUarez strung up, then of course he's going to extend his hand.

Typically an incident that should be an irrelevance is inevitably going to create headlines. Suarez didn't shake his hand, so what ?? They shouldn't have to shake hands before the game anyway, it's a load of bollocks. Two people that clearly don't like each other, it happens, why doesn't everyone just get on with it. That is not to brush over the race incident, racism is something that should never be condoned.

Ferguson overreaction in his interview suggesting Suarez should never play for Liverpool again! Evra didn't help the situation after the game jumping up and down in very close vicintiy to Suarez. Dalglish was on the verge of a Keegan-like rant after the game.

Despite it all being blown ridiculously out of proportion, it does help build a tasty atmosphere, just a shame you can't make a tackle on the pitch to heat things up nicely.

Suarez has never denied saying what he was accused by Evra of saying.

but we all know what he said. It's a question of intent.

In old fairness, Suarez admitted racially abusing Evra; it was just the amount that was disputed. Suarez claimed he said "negrito" once but Evra heard it nine or ten times.

Moreover, if Suarez was really convinced he'd been hard done by, why wouldn't he appeal? I'd certainly not be happy to be convicted of something I hadn't done, especially something as odious as racial abuse.

Suarez is, one must conclude, a ****.

should note, i hate devil's advocate. Because we can flip it like BoyBrumby and jesus christ we've all suffered enough of that.

But, what Liverpool should have done....is take Suarez aside sometime during the week and just told him to shake his hand. Stare at your ****ing feet as you're walking through the line if you want, whatever, but just do it so we can go home without any questions. It's not a surprise they haven't done it, because they've unconditionally backed him no matter what so far, but it was a time for someone to step up, tell Suarez to suck it up and we can avoid another situation where everyone calls you a racist

Ku Klux Kenny will defend him afterwards.

Cultural differences? My Arse. Racist little scumbag.
Sound call that one

Imagine having the temerity to celebrate a derby win in front of your own fans.
.

Especially when you've been under tremendous pressure and scrutiny leading upto this game.

Imagine trying to gee up support from your own supporters eh.

Don't think he even noticed Suarez behind him TBH, and credit to Suarez for not reacting. If Evra had done a Martin Keown and tried screaming in his face then yeah, maybe the reaction from the Liverpool players would be just, but he didn't. He went his way (jumping like a tit), Suarez went the other, and the Liverpool players spat their dummies out.

Nah, that's wrong. Suarez admitted to saying "negrito", but the dispute was about whether or not it was meant in an abusive manner. Evra said on Canal+ television that he heard it "ten or so times" but in court he said it was five.

Moreover, if Suarez was really convinced he'd been hard done by, why wouldn't he appeal? I'd certainly not be happy to be convicted of something I hadn't done, especially something as odious as racial abuse.
Have you seen how horrendous the appeal rate is? Something ridiculous like 0.5% of guilty cases actually get overturned once appealed. Suarez would have had his ban extended by two more games when the FA inevitably did the same.

Most likely the FA totally sewed up everything in 100 page document or whatever it was and Liverpool realised they didn't have a leg to stand on. Successful appeal rate aside, there's no other reason for failing to appeal. Particularly seeing as throughout this affair they have aggressively maintained his innocence.

Don't think I can really begrudge Evra his celebrations at the end either to be honest, not particularly dignified or necessary I suppose, but as the tone had already been set by Suarez I don't think you can overly condemn his reaction.

Good day for Tottenham and/or Newcastle in prospect here. Chelsea failing badly, Liverpool failed, Arsenal could easily fail as well. Good opportunity for both sides.

Interesting pics, doctored?
No, Suarez then walks straight past as shown live on TV and in the GIF two pages ago. Cannot believe people are still defending Suarez.

In other news, get in there City. We're coming for you, Corrin.
