*Official* English Football Season 2009-2010

I eagerly await Stevie G's instant 3-match ban as soon as the FA examine that footage.

Loving the commentators trying to defend a blatant elbow to the head.
Not sure how mentioning it was deliberate every 5 minutes, getting that **** Burley to comment on it and asking the ref about it at the end is defending it tbh.

If anything they were doing their best to make sure they get him banned.

Good, dirty ****er :)

Seriously though, if its deliberate, then he deserves a ban. Be very interesting if Rio cops one but Stevie doesn't. Though in fairness a 3 match rest might freshen him up for the WC, so its win win really.

If he's not achieving results, particularly with the financial consequences of relegation, then you can't wait till the end of the season.

No idea if this is actually the case, no idea what Hull's recent results have been like, bar Arsenal winning at the weekend.
In that case, sack the players as well, they are just as guilty as the manager. Why not sack him before a transfer window, so to give a new manager so time, and then maybe bring in some new players that he wants?

My comment was made when it happened, at which point the commentators were saying things like "oh I suppose there might have been some contact there, but..." As the game went on, they did slowly came around to the fact that it was actually a deliberate elbow to the head. Doesn't matter though, given he'll get off anyway. Again.

Any tips for the Inter v Chelsea game? Pretty evenly poised and can see Inter getting a goal in there to force Chelsea into needing three. Can equally see Chelsea getting three, too, mind you, so think it's anyone's game.

Because results change, form changes.

If the team starts to slide towards relegation, then you need to take steps to arrest that slide.

And no, the players are not as guilty. The buck stops with the manager. He signs the players, is responsible for their training and tactical shape. It is not unreasonable to expect that a different manager might be able to get more out of a group of players.

Am hoping the Babel-haters watched the game today. Will be very interesting to see how he/we goes/go against United. Can't wait.

Well impressed with the XI named aswell, so good. Apart from Insua...

EDIT: Also, congrats Alberto!

Didn't see the game, but credit to the Gunners - they seem to be getting a lot of late goals at the moment, which speaks volumes for their character and persistence.
Further to this point, I've just read that Arsenal have scored beyond the 90th minute in 7 of their past 13 Premier League games. That's a phenomenal effort, and if they win the League this season then the points saved or won in those matches will be a major reason for it.

Hull started that slide in late December 2008 though. The only reason they're still a Premiership team is because of Geovanni being able to smack in some long range spectactular goals.

Samuel Eto'o believes whoever wins this game will win the CL.

0-0 @ HT. Chavs had slightly the better of it, but Inter looked dangerous when they broke.

Drogba literally wrestled to the ground by Samuel at a corner tho. If that wasn't a pen, etc.

Yeah, Ivanovic was bundled over before him.
Inter had a good passage of play and worked it well down the right a few times, then just as I was praising them on msn Chelsea launched their onslaught leading up to the break.

Yeah I know rugger is getting increasingly popular in Argie-land, but he's taking it a bit far.

I can understand why Carvallo was one of Jose's fave players though, clearly a sourinho tactic.

Tough game to watch for me. Hate Chelsea and Mourinho equally, but probably feel Chelsea going as far as possible in Europe is best for us in the league. Leaning towards them slightly but goddamn it isn't easy when I see the pack of ****s they field.
