Arsenal have simply been unlucky that the horrid tackles against their side have so often resulted in injuries.
Others have already demurred, but have to add my tuppence worth too. It's no coincidence that Diaby, Eduardo & Ramsey all suffered their injuries against teams who try to compensate for their technical deficiences with the poor man's skill.

To paraphrase dear Oscar (who almost certainly wasn't adverse to a stiff tackle): to lose one player to a broken leg might be considered misfortune, to lose two begins to look like carelessness & to lose three looks like the dirty cheating cheats are targetting you deliberately.

Wonderful way with words, Wilde.

Well the idea that three broken legs in the course of three years proves something is just a basic misunderstanding of statistical variance. Sorry Mr. Wilde, but Sir Charles Babbage might require a word.

Not that you guys are necessarily wrong, but this stuff about injuries to bad tackles in three years, it isn't evidence.

It may not be evidence but it's a bloody obvious trend. How many other teams can make these claims? You're being a bit of an ostrich on this one for mine.

Those kind of injuries happen in the Prem, what, once a season, maybe? The fact that three have happened to us looks more than just bad luck.

Mind you it's great that the arguments against the challenge being disgraceful are from manure fans. It may be a terrible coincidence about Arse getting all these injuries but I'm certain that people defending it are the worst type of football supporters, and it's being franked hard in this thread.

I was going to explain why you're wrong, but a rant about statistics isn't for the footy thread.

Anyway, I think if Shawcross pulls out and Arsenal score he gets crucified. If Denilson pulled out in that spot and Stoke scored he most certainly would. The result is unfortunate, I feel absolutely horrible for Ramsey. But I'm not personally assigning any blame to Shawcross for the incident.

Anybody watching on Sky here? Did Richard Keys actually ask Andy Gray if the fact we've had three leg breaks in five years was our own fault?
