*Official* English Football Season 2009-2010

My point is I didn't see him go in studs up. Going off one view, both players went for the ball. If Rooeny came off like Ramsey in that kinda challenge, them's the breaks.

IIRC, Alan Smith's injury was similar and I saw it then as I see this one.
If his studs weren't up, then he impacted down on Ramsey's leg from above, which is even more reckless.

Some perspective here, Ryan Shawcross is a good English kid who'd never hurt a fly and now he's going to have the world's media focussed on him for something like this. He's the one we should be feeling sorry for. Such a good lad.

I agree that it was almost certainly not malicious, and agree with what you have just said. But the bottom line is intent or not, this sort of thing is happening again and again.

I think I should've included the sarcasm tags for that one.

Yes, let's not forget who the real victim is.

Fair point that but no reason to lay all of this on Shawcross. Challenges like that happen to every team. It's a regulation 50/50 ball. Nothing in that is an attempt to kick Arsenal out of the game.

So was I

But aside that, I don't have a problem so much with Shawcross himself, I will happily admit that. I'm just sat here feeling bloody irate about what's happened, again.

FMD, if these sorts of challenges happened every game we'd be seeing a lot of players walking around on crutches, open your eyes.

Hmm, just saw the spoilers on here. Certainly not good - no replays shown here as yet on TV. Poor bastard.

Just showed the pic to my young bloke, who's not averse to taking down attackers in his soccer, as the reason you never deliberately try to take out someone's leg (not saying that was the case here btw). He's pretty upset about it tbh.

Yeah, pretty ****ing annoying when people try excusing it as well.

You're a better man than me then. He can die in a fire for all I care.

I'm feeling kind, if it was a player who I didn't otherwise like or someone of greater experience or just generally more of a **** then I wouldn't be taking it so well.

Grrrreat win for City today. One of the better performances since Mancini has arrived. Although Mancini suggested it was not the best performance since he arrived, it was the one at Stoke where we lost 3-1?? I watched that game and exceptionally confused where he's coming from with that one.

Bridge was either going to get slagged off for being petty (by not shaking hands) or two-faced (by shaking hands with a man he has made plain that he now has no time for). Get the feeling there's some ill-feeling between Terry and Bellamy also, if you see Bellers shake his hand, he turns his head away and seems to pull a disapproving frown, and clearly his comments after were pretty clear cut.

What a difference Tevez and Bellamy make to this City side, both very good today, and think Kompany and Lescott at the heart of the defence is probably our best pairing.
