A defender I would really like but Nordtveit has been very impressive on loan in the Bundesliga and is a very good prospect who'll be back next season.
So impressive he was dropped from the 18 for the last league match.

Played mainly as a DM there, too.

Cant see much activity at our end tbh, when fit our squads pretty decent. Possibly a centre back now O'Shea out for a few months, plus no signs of Rio or Evans, leaving our choices at Brown, Vidic, midgets and midfielders.

At the begining of the season would've liked to see an out and out left winger, now I'd like to see Obertan given a run
Fergie has ruled out any major signings in Jan anyway (though he always does that TBH). I don'/t think O'Shea's injury will mean a new centre back, given he's been playing right back all year and we have Rafael and the Neviller both fit again. Vidic and Brown are back and Evans/Rio are both due within the next fortnight or so, so I reckon we're just about right.

Agree about Obertan getting a run, particularly as it seems that it is a matter of when rather than if Nani is out the door. Owen Hargreaves playing another game, ever, would be nice though.

There has to be a bit of doubt over Rio long term though, far too many niggles this year not to have. O'Shea is considered one of our central quota when discussing depth in the middle, so effectively we could be 2 down. Brown's not exactly someone to bank on going injury free, feel we could do with 1 body to add a bit more depth to the backup.... Mebbie Campbell wasnt such a bad shout afterall.

Only other shout would be to bring Cathcart back from loan

Well done Liverpool, you scraped a draw against a team who lost four-one to Plymouth last week. Real top four material that, possibly even title winning.

Come Back Xabi! Save us!

Heh @ Diouf lingering on the pitch after his red card tackle, I'm sure if the ref had any other red cards he'd have shown him those as well.

And the referee still got mildly harassed for that one.

Only once have I watched Liverpool this season and not been slightly amazed at how bad they are. It was against us :@.

Campbell's a crap call. Right not to make a move for him. Evans the long term replacement for Rio anyway.

Evans is also injured. Not a very good replacement when he's not on the pitch, and hasnt been for quite a while.

Fact is were fighting on 4 fronts with a very shaky backline, where our central defence consists of

Vidic - just back from injury
Ferdinand - Out for most of the season so far, suspectable to injury at the moment
Brown - Fit at moment, but injury prone
O'Shea - Out for a couple of months
Evans - Not played for us since the 8th November due to injury.

Yes, Campbell isnt exactly strengthening the side, but he would strengthen the squad which short term is looking depleted with a very busy couple of months coming up. They may well be better options out there, but he is the first to spring to mind as:
A) he is a free agent who'd probably not demand too much to get back into the top flight and would probably welcome a short term contract
B) He's proven at this level, and whilst he may not be as good as before, wouldn't look miles out of his depth (wheras the next choice on our squad list, Oli Gill, would)
C) Would be available for all competitions, not cup tied in any

So not a crap call IMO, might be right not to make a move, but would be wrong to rule it out without a thought given our current status, and has absolutely no bearing on Evans long term development at the club (might actually help having an experienced player to learn from who isnt prone to brain farts)

Campbell hasn't played since September has he? So would need game time to get up to some semblance of decent. Would much rather call back one of the youngsters from loan.
