Well, I've already stated Owen is finished IMHO.

May change if he could get a full-season and score lots of goals, but that ain't going to happen.
But if it does happen & England continue to do well in world cup qualifiers & friendlies going into the world cup. Capello would be wrong to leave him out, just like how Aragones was wrong to leave Raul out of Spain's Euro 08 squad.

He makes Shane Watson look indestructible, to be fair.
Thats not a fair comparison at all. Owen has had 1 serious injury in his career, which has made him slower after almost a decade in the prem.

Watson on the other hand since his international debut in 2002, has struggled to play more than 6 months without having an injury.

Yes he left him out because he didn't rate him any longer or in his vision for Spain didn't see a place for Raul. In hindsight spain won the tournament so it wont seem a bad decision, but going into the tournament many Spain still had the chockers tag around them.

Raul was scoring for Madrid, but young Bojan was picked instead. But when young Bojan opted out due to tiredness, Guiza was picked as the replacement.

Tony Kellow was better then Owen and Ritchie, and he was much more hirsute then both too...

Not enough slapheads or beardos in football anymore for me. Wherefore art those glorious bald pates and attendent comb-overs of Messers Charlton & Coates and the mighty facial hair of a Peter Withe or a Brian Kilcline?

Football's the lesser for their absence, surely?

Hey Kells still remains our highest transfer fee, which we didn't actually pay much money for, because it was basically how much money hadn't been payed for him from Blackpool when we took him back.

Was glorious in 81, where must have outscored the likes of Ritchie and Palmer, as he was the top-scorer in all Four divisions. Hat-trick against Leicester was my greatest childhood sporting memory.

He may have liked a drink which was why his little cornish beer-gut became somewhat transitional in later years....

Andy Ritchie didn't exist before 1987, though some evil individuals have made up stories that he played for dirty L**ds...surely there must be a law against such defamation (some even have the cheek to suggest he played for Manure as well!)

Well certainly no Man U supporters would be pleased to claim it anyway.....
