Ridiculous post, this. If one of us came out and said "yeah, the problem is that black people don't care about the national team, they're all about their clubs", you'd be up in arms.
Nah, if that was how it is i'd adhere to it. Example with cricket if someone where to say generally black ppl have no serious care about the national side in recent times i wouldn't be offended since thats a fact.

As i clearly explained before the club over country complex that i have noticed is something that has become very prevalent since England shocking WC performance & a fair few on this site have since WC 06 have claimed that position. (You along with Brumby are one of the few that i feel still have some passion for the national side)

My overall point is that through good or bad results we should support England.

Anti-white racism is the same as anti-male ***ism - for some reason, it seems to be completely acceptable.
No anti-white racism was ever suggested in my post. A simple case of pointing out an obvious race trait. Its the same as saying white ppl like rock & heavy metal while black ppl like rap & dancehall, christ..

You can't bring race into the equation and then say "nothing racial intended". I would suggest you go back to talking about football rather than race, but to be honest that's just as likely to lead to you saying something dumb, so I give up.
 , i had dropped this already its just you lifting a portion of my post & misinterpreting everything i said.

Why though? You haven't actually made any points to support this statement as yet, you've just come up with some bollocks about race, which is not only incorrect but even if it was correct, it would not support this statement.

Fact is, as patriotic as I am I watch my club week in week out, and if you bump into one of our players in the boozer they buy you a pint.

Sheesh, the point is (as has been mentioned before), I wouldn't get angry with the bunch of numpties if I didn't care. I just wish they cared as much as me.......

Anyway, interesting squad picked by Capello. Jimmy Bullard:laugh:

My team would be:

Code:
                             Green

Brown Terry Ferdinand A. Cole

Beckham Lampard Barry Downing

                             Cole

                             Rooney
Yeah, I know it looks ****e, which is the problem cappelo has, really. Terry's too slow for international football, but he's our cap'n, so I guess he'll play. Brown is just poor, but i can't think of anyone else. Lamps may not be as ****e as normal without Stevie G, Barry's playing shockingly but Hargreaves and carrick are injured. Beckhams legs have gone but he still provides about 80 % of our goals with his delivery. Rooney may rediscover his form up front on his own, because lets face it he's been awful in the hole for England, I've put cole in there, basically because I'm a fan-boy of his.

Gosh I'm depressing myself with this, and then there's Stuart Downing, who I've slated more then most. Yet I've decided he's our saviour:unsure: , Wenger likes him, Cappelo likes him, so I'm putting his pointlessly headless-chicken and way-to-direct approach of earlier england matches down to McClown (he's an eashy target hafter hall). He may have just been following orders. actually, as long as it's discriminating, I don't mind this england side being slightly more direct then it has been. It's been lacking in that for a while.

Ugh...what a horrible night. Losing to Rangers is bad enough, but 4-2, at home ffs. Boruc needs to get out of the team and sort him self out, and VoH need to take a long hard look at himself.

Simple, its our national team if we don't support them who will, no need to adapt a club over country position, boo Lampard everytime he plays, call Cole Cashley (although its funny) & condemn the players for not caring.

Yea no doubt i've been watching ENG seriously since EURO 2000 & its been utterly frustrating especially since EURO 2004, but its quite obvious to me at least the problem that we see now was caused by the Sven did to us. Good manager he is yea, but his laid back style & picking the big names even when they were not playing well messed us up.

This is why currently although don't agree with Owen not being picked, in the end will be a good thing since obviously Capello has come in Owen hasn't been his best & he isn't being picked on rep, now the man have prove to the new boss he is still our most reliable goal-scorer which i back him 100% to do & be back in the national side before long.

I'm sure Spanish fans for a long time may have felt the same or even worst, but Aragones found the way get those gifted players playing as a unit & well the rest is history. Don't expect Capello to make us win a major tournament but i expect him create English style to our football & find best possible combination for the current the "Golden Generation" so at least they can leave with some respectability in the eyes of fans, then when Burton is up & running & we start producing skillful players on the level of Spain, France or Italy then we can start thinking of international glory.

Come on England...

So what was the circumstances of Shevchenko's move to Milan, was it a loan or transfer?

Also for you footballing geeks (:p - read Hakon), after telling my mate how Silvestre was the first MU player since Brian Kidd moved to Arsenal 34 years ago, who was the last player and when to have gone from Arsenal to MU? I know the last player to have gone in either direction from Liverpool - MU most of been in the late 60's to 70's.

Anyway, interesting squad picked by Capello. Jimmy Bullard:laugh:
Interesting is an under-statement, while i may commend him leaving him Owen out ATM (although personally i would still picked him since he obviously would have found form on the international stage). Got ridicule picks such as:

Downing - what does anyone see him i really don't know. I'll admit he looks for his club but what in an ENG shirt could he have done to keep getting picked. Whats wrong with Young who impresses for Villa all the time or my boy Matt Taylor.

Defoe - like Downing looks good for club not int'l quality. Agbonlahor should have been picked. Hopefully is banished soon.

Robinson - Still struggling that goal that Arteta beat him with the other day shows that. Would have stuck with Hart or maybe gone for Kirkland.

Bullard/Jenas - What?. Well i want to condemn him but i'll wait to see what he's about if he plays, but i hope Capello sees some defensive mid-field qualities in him since that mid-field our ours looks quite soft. While Jenas still doesn't convince me names like Parker, Noble, Nolan would be ahead of him all the time

Upson/Lescott - Good defenders but better than Woodgate/King? no way Capello

My team would be:

Code:
                             Green

Brown Terry Ferdinand A. Cole

Beckham Lampard Barry Downing

                             Cole

                             Rooney
Love the idea of Cole playing in the hole very much agree with this side, expect i hope to god if Capello does hold this idea either Walcott or Bentley plays on the left instead Downing & i guess James will still start also, good to see Green finally picked though.

Capello could maybe let Heskey lead the line with Rooney in the hole & send Cole on the left also.

Brown is just poor, but i can't think of anyone else.
Richards or Comrad Neville?, but Capello hasn' t picked Richards since he became manger though (injuries playing a major part i hope while Neville may have to prove father time hasn't caught up with him. But Brown has impressed me of late always accused him of being just a decent utility man for United but he seems falling into the RB roll well of late.

Rooney may rediscover his form up front on his own, because lets face it he's been awful in the hole for England
Word & having seen Rooney play up front on his own for ENG & United i think he can do it but is much better in the hole of course. Look hopefully Owen quickly convinces Capello & comes back to lead the line in the best ENG XI which IMO would be:

Code:
                                     James/Green

Brown/Richards Ferdinand Terry A Cole

                              Hargreaves Barry

     Gerrard Cole

                                   Rooney

                                              Owen

It was Viv Anderson wasn't it? I can't think of anyone we've signed from the Gunners since then, though I might well be missing someone painfully obvious...

Personally i'd have picked Owen, he's scored at least once this season and frankly why pick Heskey and then not pick Owen?

Owen looks in good touch to me. Think it's pretty obvious that Capello just doesn't rate him, but if he thinks Defoe will get more goals for England than Owen...madness!
