Don't wanna sound too much or the curmudgeon, but God the defending from both teams at Anfield was scarcely worthy of the name. Never thought I'd be pining for Almunia's return quite so much either.

Some top quality strikes from Arseshaving tho, it must be said. I've questioned the wisdom of signing him on this very forum, but Arsene knows.

Arsesaving is a much more appropriate nickname after that performance.

TBH, and I'm sure I speak for a sizeable portion of Arsenal supporters, I really wouldn't have been too gutted to lose today.

Aside from the obvious ManUre being the embodiment of the very essence of evil, it would actually have helped our own cause too. It's in our best interests with the CL semis looming for United to have to play their best XI in the Prem as often as possible. Now, with the breathing space we've given them, a few weary limbs might be saved.

Yeah on the level of keeping United on their toes I did think before the match that a loss wouldn't be too bad but once kick off happened that all changed in a flash. No frigging way did I want to lose to that shower especially considering how many of my mates would lord it over me if they did thump us like was expected.

Drey was spectacular today, brought clinical finishing not seen in the side since Le Bob left us. How we could've done with his passing, directness and general menace on Saturday, but yeah not the "best" game as far as standards go but so damn exciting it's not funny.

On the whole I was gutted that we could take the lead in the 70th minute, concede in the 72nd; take the lead in the 91st minute and once again concede in the 92nd. ****ing hell, if we'd spent some money and brought another defender like the whole world was crying about then we wouldn't need to rely on bloody Silvestre in important games like this.

Clearly Brumbers is just wise:)

Good poster that cicero, even though I fear he may be a Pre-cam multi:unsure:

Evil will reign again for the third season it seems.

In other news has anyone realised how crap Cashley is playing nowadays.....

Chelsea-Everton is dull. United looking good to go three points clear. Will be the first side to win three in a row twice IIRC

Indeed. 'Uddersfield, us & Scousers the others to do it.

Ferguson the only manager to win three on the bounce tho, interestingly enough. Herbert Chapman had taken over at The Arsenal (it was at his behest the definite article was dropped from our official name, ftr, so we'd appear first in alphabetical lists) by the time Huddersfield completed the hat-trick, he'd sadly passed away before we did it and yer Scousers won two under Paisley and the third under Fagin.

Game meandering tho, yeah, hence the trivia fest.

What's interesting is that had Cantona assaulted a fan in Feb 95, you'd fancy that United would have won five in a row 93-97. And was Roy Keane's instrumental in them not winning it in 98? Not sure on the second one, as Arsenal were awesome that season (sure Brumby will agree), scary thoughts nonetheless
