Think SWP should've probably gone too FWIW. Was a nasty foul on Etherington (even if he deserves that and more) just before Delap went thru him & then he had a hack back at Delap after he'd kicked him. No question it was a red for Delap, but should've been for SWP too.

He took all of the ball in that challenge and was allowed to play by the ref, no worries. The kick back was dodgy but he's just been booted in the stomach, somewhat understandable, yellow but no red for me.

But hey, just call me biased and move on.

Etherington and Beattie look like two excellent signings for Stoke.

Beattie looks a hungrier player after a year or two out of the prem. I'm unable to offer any opinion on Etherington that makes any pretence at objectivity tho.

Fair play to Stoke. DCYE called it tho; Citeh never looked like breaking them down.
