And he has spat at people in the past as well. There should of been a ruling that if had spat at someone they should be allowed to punch him out and not get sent off. Dirty ****.

In other news Newcastle have Citeh permission to talk to Shay Given in a transfer expected to be in the region of £5m.

Happy that Given is (likely) coming as he's right up there with the best keepers in England but not sure what Hart will think of it. Hopefully he hangs around, assume Kasper will be moving on.

I do hope that Hughes can bring in another centre-half of quality. Talk of him bidding for Alex, which I certainly wouldn't mind as IMO he's top quality.

Would really hurt Newcastle if Given were to leave. Mike Ashley is on record as saying Given isn't going anywhere, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he were to leave. Awesome keeper though, up there with the best in the PL.

He's been allowed to talk with City and handed in a transfer request. All that needs to happen is a fee, and whilst Hughes has been stingy so far, I don't think he's going to worry about an extra 2 or 3 mill that they want.

Surely Newcastle would be searching around for a replacement for Given right now. Easiest one would be to agree a fee with Citeh and ask for one of Joe Hart or Kasper Schmeichel in return on loan for the rest of the season.

Harper is a solid performer and has been there nearly 2 decades, the man deserves to be first choice. Though not a bad idea to try and get Kasper the other way, he's good and could flourish at Newy.

Harper is good enough. When Given was out for a couple months a few seasons ago he did a very good job. Though you would need a better backup for him.

Quite. & there aren't too many people Steve Bruce is less of a **** than, but Joe "****ing" Kinnear is one of them. Joseph is such a penis I sometimes wonder if he isn't just taking the piss sometimes as I struggle to believe anyone so devoid of redeeming features can hold onto a job, even at Newcastle.
