Agree with this, Gerrard is amongst the worst divers in the game (Sheffield United in 06/07 anyone?), and yet it's foreigners such as Ronaldo and Drogba that have the reputation, you hardly hear a mention of Gerrard's diving, despite the fact that he's as bad as the pair of them.
Ashley Cole is one of the worst offenders in the Prem and Young Michael used to have a penchant too before his legs went. It's not solely a foreign problem, no.

He does like a tumble, but the Sheff United one was a cast-iron penalty. Obviously there was no contact, but the defender clearly went for the man, not the ball. But yeah, he gets to ground quite easily - seem to remember a quite blatant one for England in one of the last friendlies before the last World Cup

Yeah, when Owen was lightning quick he could get away with it, you could never be sure whether there was contact or not

edit - he was a dirty bastard in his youth as well, I remember a horror tackle on I think Schmeichel that got him sent off in 99

I love the way Gerrard's opinion changes through his interview on ITV, first he says he'll have to look at the replay to see if it's a penalty or not - about as big an admission as you could get that he dived like a member of the Chinese swimming team, then shortly after says it's a definite penalty.

I don't know if Anorthosis would like being called Greek?
The citizens of Famagusta might object, but as Anorthosis play their games in Larnaka these days, I don't think the fans of Anorthosis would mind. Greek Cypriots mostly wish to be a part of Greece and you see Greek flags in the stadium.

Tom Halsey

International Coach
Can't complain at the overall performance there, just the finishing, just about everyone was wasteful at some point.

1-1 will do.

Ronaldo lucky not to be sent off a few minutes from the end I thought, cracking shot to force the equaliser though (ie Ronaldo's effort)

Loony BoB

International Captain
Always rated him personally, on stats alone. I think over a period of five years he was the second highest PL scorer after Henry, or something like that.

Am thinking a draw for Arsenal tomorrow will be a good result. Adebayor not in the team means that there won't be a single player who can head the ball, and if Walcott fails his fitness test tomorrow which it looks like he will then Bendtner will have to be on his own up front, and that wouldn't be good, unless of course Vela or Ramsay are given the chance to play in behind him...but I doubt that'll happen. More likely that the midfield will be packed with Diaby, Denilson, Eboue and Fabregas....with Nasri providing support to the front line...not hopeful tbh.
