Do you think we could be on the telly-box, Neil? Potential upset and all that.
Doubt it, there are more games that have "X" about them than "former non league side doing quite well visit ground where near neighbours lost hilariously recently".

I would fancy for TV ahead of us, without looking too hard:
AFC Wimbledon v Wycombe
Havant & Waterlooville v Brentford
Blyth Spartans v Shrewsbury
Chesterfield v Mansfield
Leeds v Northampton

Yeah, you are probably right. Would of been nice to be on Setanta again, if only for Steve Tullys post-match interview.....

Arse looking quite good, the Irons my outside bet for relegation, you heard it here first folks...

Yeah AWTA, with Hull starting so well I would not be at all surprised if West Ham get dragged into the relegation mire.

Might start to believe in a benign God if that were to come to pass.

What gets me is that Redknapp has bought into the "T*ttenham are a big club" bull****. BBC quotes him as saying "It's a big opportunity to manage a big club before I retire". How are they a big club? Because their fans say so? Proximity to The Arsenal?
Should have known that when he said Pompey would be his last job in management, he was talking ****e. Hope the lying double-Judas **** takes Spurs down and rots in the Championship where them and their so-called "massive club" fans belong. Having proven for the second time that his word means nothing, and having, for the second time, pissed on the fans who forgave his lies the first time, he will not be welcome back at Fratton Park again. **** him.

Harry Redknapp can go **** himself. That is all I have to say.

Bit harsh, for mine. The guy has been your best manager pretty much ever, but for him you'd probably be middling in the Championship, there are plenty of clubs with a grander tradition and bigger fanbases than you doing so. It's not like he's shafted you; you're getting £5 million for him that by all accounts you badly needed. I honestly don't think he would have done any better than he has done already, and as such it was the right time to go (if not a little hasty leaving for another club on the day of a game).

I can understand you being upset and all, and I would be too, but I think all this "the fans forgave" him stuff is a little silly, but for Harry Redknapp do you think those fans would have been a stable Premiership club, winning the FA Cup and playing European football? No chance, hell I can remember it clearly when you sued to bring about 12 fans to PP and we'd piss all over you. When you reflect back, I think you'll realise that however he's left, he is the best thing that's ever happened to Portsmouth FC.

I'm not diminishing his accomplishments at the club. He is without a doubt the best manager in the history of the club, and we wouldn't be anywhere near where we are without him. He owes the fans nothing.

Nothing, that is, except basic human decency. If he had held his hands up and said, "I was gonna retire at Pompey but I changed my mind", then fair enough. Likewise, if he'd gone to Saints without saying, "I'll never go down the road", then I don't think nearly as many of us would have minded too much. The fact is, he's flat-out gone back on his word on more than one occasion, and that's what we're bitter about.

If Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United, obviously no-one would diminish his achievements - but that doesn't mean that if he left them for someone else having previously said that he never would, the fans wouldn't have reason to criticise him. It's his honesty, not his ability or commitment to the club that were ever in question.

Yeah, I can appreciate that, nonetheless given the circumstances this time out I think you should throw him a bone. By all accounts, you were in SERIOUS need of the money, losing your manager is just about the only way you can make a quick million or five in October.

Last time out I think it was fair enough that you all got so mad at him, I'd have been seething, and his leaving back then came close to undoing all his good work, as you came close to the drop. He came back, made you into a top-half side, earning back your respect and support. The whole "I'll never manage another club" thing maybe he shouldn't say it, but then again, what's he going to say? "Pompey are okay, but I'm not getting any younger so a London club with 40,000 supporters might appeal to me in the future."

At the end of the day, if Redknapp hadn't gone then by the sounds of it 4 or 5 players would have done, however good a manager he is he can't work miracles, so as long as you don't appoint a total incompetent like Bolton did when Allardyce left, then you have a very good squad which should be okay.

When Aldo left us in 01, many fans turned against him, saying he was a "quitter" who didn't want a relegation on his CV. There was no way he could keep us up so he moved aside in the hope of someone else having a chance with something different. The board ****ed it up and put his backroom staff in charge, well anyway, the point is some Tranmere fans still hate Aldridge to this day. The guy gave me the greatest days of my life, a trip to ****ing Wembley in a Cup Final, and I'll always adore him. I think Redknapp deserved the same feeling from the Pompey fans. :)

Last time out? I think you must be mistaken. Redknapp never left Portsmouth before, he merely pretended to.

Barnes anger towards Redknapp is understandable. But looking at it from an English & Premiership POV (instead of a club POV), Redknapp is the best English manager around, so its good that he is getting a chance to work with the best club outside the Big 4.

Good stuff from Liverpool also, honestly wouldn't mind seeing them come the end of the reason, challenging for the title.
