Haha, wtf is going on here. Just want to sign him tbh, would be pretty damn confident of taking 4th if we could sign him. Benjani up front with maybe Sturridge and Caicedo to support, as well as Bojinov and Castillo to come back is pretty potent, especially with Elano, Johnson, Ireland and Petrov feeding them. But wait...there's still a chance the deal could go through...

He's just very poor, not England quality, and for him to pick up as many caps as he has is Ridiculous IMHO.What's with the Neville hate? Don't see how the MLS isn't a proper league. Quality isn't as high as in the top Euro leagues but you're making it sound like they have bo idea what they're doing and are worse than the J-League and whatnot.
Phil Neville is a reasonable fill in for a player who is injured, a good player to have in your side, but yes he is not anywhere near good enough to represent england on a regular basis. He's just very poor, not England quality, and for him to pick up as many caps as he has is Ridiculous IMHO.
I've seen the MLS and it doesn't impress me at all. No soul in a country that doesn't care.
Yeah look, tbh, me too. Their list is far and away better than the other contenders (though imo our defence is better) and they should take 4th comfortably. But I can hope.would be surprised if liverpool dont get 4th place tbh, though they have been pretty crap on several occasions I imagine they will scrap out 4th place, though I hope they dont, be the end of benitez thats for sure,
I reckon Rafa would just have to go. They have the talent to challenge IMO, or at the very least go close, so the manager would have to go.Games against the top three yet to go...
Tougher games...
Liverpool: Away to Arsenal, Away to Chelsea, Away to United.
Villa: Away to Arsenal, Away to United.
Everton: Home to Chelsea, Away to Arsenal.
City: Home to Arsenal, Away to United, Home to Chelsea.
Liverpool have the toughest run-in of the lot, really. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool did or didn't get into the CL next season. I do wonder exactly who the 'pool fans would blame if they didn't make it, since they seem to hold Rafa in very high regard over there.
Yeah, agree with this tbh.Regardless of whether Beckham is half-fit, or even a quarter-fit, he's hands down way better than any other option on the right-side of midfield IMO.
Yeah, agree with this tbh.
Could work, I suppose.........Ashley Young on the left, Joe Cole on the right i heard.
Just realised it myself, haven't really seen much wrong with Green from the few times i've seen him. But i've seen a few members who look at a lot of football have querries about his ability so i dunno. Can't believe Robert Green didn't get a crack in goal. He's been superb for West Ham for two seasons now and fully deserves a shot in goal for England.
I'd give you he is the most experienced option on the right not the best ATM though. I reckon Cole, Bentley or Agbonlahor would offer all Becks has (except for his ability with free-kicks although Bentley seems very good at taking them) plus more skill & pace. As i mentioned before Beckham's importance for England on the right became so important after the WC when he was dropped intially because England mid-field was so poor they couldn't get it moving in the middle of the park thus making Becks dead ball skills so important since ENG didn't look like scoring in open play ever. So if Capello can fix that Becks won't be needed that much IMO, especially in this era when we are planning for the WC 2010. So i'll say again Becks may have to define his game in a different position & get back playing in ENG since playing in MLS will be to his detriment if he wants to play for ENG.Regardless of whether Beckham is half-fit, or even a quarter-fit, he's hands down way better than any other option on the right-side of midfield IMO.
Fair enough, but as you said other than the obvious options they ain't much players outside the obvious who could have been chosen that are showing any real potential i think. But then again if under 21's weren't going on maybe blokes Hart, Wheater that are in the under 21 or blokes like Mark Noble & Nedum Onuoha could have been those suprise selections. There isn't really, I suppose, especially if the options aren't there. I was just hoping that (like with Sven) he may've spotted potential in a few different players other than the obvious ones. It's about 8 months before we play a real game so now would be the time to experiment. I mean Sven threw in Chris Powell, Michael Ball & Gavin McCann into his first squad (there's a game of where are they now for you!). Only Powell seriously featured afterwards, but at least the thrill of the new gave us hope, however illusory & fleeting.
Wheater played well against Mansfield the other week. Huth was completely shown up time after time by Michael Boulding (such a gun) but Wheater seemed to have it covered. Huth is supposed to be an international defender.Fair enough, but as you said other than the obvious options they ain't much players outside the obvious who could have been chosen that are showing any real potential i think. But then again if under 21's weren't going on maybe blokes Hart, Wheater that are in the under 21 or blokes like Mark Noble & Nedum Onuoha could have been those suprise selections.
Considering how England's played in the last few years you're right. He's better than England quality. He's just very poor, not England quality, and for him to pick up as many caps as he has is Ridiculous IMHO.
