totts where terrible and everton where brilliant. andy johnson has been a revelation for the toffees up front, he is nothing but quality and i think he should get a call up into the england squad. with regards to arsenal all you hear about is world cup blues. seriously your back in the epl start playing football.

Good day for Steds then. Saints win the Challenge Cup, Toffees beat them @ ***** Hart Lane for the first time in 21 years & Wigan beating Reading too.
Aye, Partick kept their unbeaten record, too. Shame about that chucker Kirtley taking wickets, though...

Not the biggest admirer of Martin O’Neill but so far so good. Watched today’s game and the style has not changed much, Angel used as the target man and long ball was the weapon of choice but can not argue with the results so far. Even though Newcastle should be slightly disappointed with the result considering they controlled the best part of it.

Elsewhere dream debut for Andre Ooijer.
8-)

Nothing. But the fact that he has England caps makes a mockery of the international selection process. Scoring 10 goals from open play in 35+ games and being a penalty taker is not international form.

in fairness there have been none who have outperformed him this season, he warrants his go this time round if he didnt the last, nobody better due to all the injuries and bans.

Still would have taken him to Germany instead of Walcott :p

What a farce Domenech is.

Makelele retires from International Football so he selects him and wants a 2 club game ban for each game he doesn't play for France.

Maybe we should have blackmailed Shearer into coming back for England after 2000...

its pretty pathetic really, if he doesnt want to play then France are in essence powerless surely...
It's not even a case of not wanting to play though. It'd be like recalling Zidane (again).

was Oojier really that bad for Blackburn this weekend? i've heard he had a bit of a shocker, a bit disapointing for him but he's too good not to bounce back...

unlucky i think, the second goal he didnt really make any error, drogba was just a bit too strong, penalty was a bit dubious but was probably a correct decision, i expect he'll play better in the next few weeks.

yea he deserves his chance ATM, hopefully he could do well. Its like back in the late 90s when Giggs was at his superb best & England had the problem on the left-side & i used to say damn why did he have to be from Wales. Now that England have a bit of drought in foward talent behing Wazza, Owen & Crouch, it would have been good if Bellamy was english.
