One-nil Derby. Sure Eddie & Pedro are loving it, wherever they are. :)
Good on them as well.

Interestingly enough, if Sunderland have learnt the lessons from the past, and it looks like they have, I wouldn't mind putting my neck on the line and tip all 3 to stay up. Though Man U and Sunderland should be an interesting prospect

Sulley Muntari has joined Pompey. Seven million £ isn't a huge fee for a player who holds all the necessary qualities one would want from a Premiership midfielder, great tank and very physical. Although, Muntari isn't the most ‘cultured’ of footballers that's probably why Man Untied looked over him but he should do well in England.

Made up about this, TBH. Great signing. Hopefully the prospective deals for Diarra and Utake might materialise soon. :)

I'm no so taken by Utaka if only for his finishing is not great. Quick as anything but so was Douala and Harry did sweet FA with him but Utaka does have the ability to play anywhere up top, from leading the line to playing out wide so he could be a valuable addition to the side. Only concern with Redknapp's love affair with Africa is that the African Cup of Nations occurs next year and considering Portsmouth have their fair share of African players, their squad could be hit very hard.

Not seen much of Alou Diarra but he must have come on a bit since his days at Liverpool and FC Bayern, were neither club knew what to do with him. If Diarra does go it would be the first sale of a player for new Lyon manager Alan Perrin, a Portsmouth legend of course.

Haha, Perrin was so dire it's unbelievable.

Yeah, Redknapp's fixation with Africa does baffle me, and worry me at times. It's almost like he's so old-fashioned he thinks that the more black players he signs, the better his team will be...

Hahaha, the bloke knows his football:laugh: .

Anyway looking ahead to friday's clash with Brazil & next week vs Estonia with Hargreaves out, well i'm afraid Mclers will be forced to going back to tried & failed formula of Lampard & Gerrard together in mid-field. In most cases an XI of:

----------------------------------------------------Robinson-----------------------------------------------------------------

Carragher-----------------------------Terry-----------------------King-----------------------------------------Bridge

Beckham---------------------------------------Carrick-------------------------------------------------------------Cole

-----------------------------------------Gerrard---------------------Lampard---------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------Owen--------------------------------------------------------------------

That looks pretty good but with England especially that mid-field it spells disaster...

Crouch & Owen will start up front, that formation you've got there would be utter suicide against Brazil. You have to stop them from having the ball, you can't just soak up pressure for 90mins.

Agreed, i guess then King may have to occupy Hargreaves role since he's the only man who can possibly do the digging in mid-field.

Man U sign Nani and Anderson...:-O

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/6706423.stm

If Man U can get themselves a striker then they would have the resonates of a bloody good side. According to reports Luca Toni was one of Ferguson's main targets but he signed with FC Bayern this afternoon.

Anyways cracking coups from Untied nevertheless. I've seen a bit of Nani and he looks special, not seen much of Anderson other than the odd fleeting Champions League appearance but his rated very highly and should feature for Brazil against England this coming week.

If all these players we've got (and should soon get WRT Nani and Anderson) all live up to their potential, we're going to have a hell of a side in a few years. Somewhat of a big if but nevertheless...

Was surprised when I heard the news. In fact I don't think Man Utd need a striker with Rossi doing well. Rooney, Ronaldo, Rossi, Nani, Anderson, Evans, Pique, Foster, etc. Gonna be one heck of a side when they all reach their peaks.

Evans, Pique and Foster?

This is in the same way that Djemba, Kleberson, Chadwick, Fox, Taylor, Nardiello (etc) turned into world-beaters, yes?

Sorry, can only assume you mean New England rather than England there.
Ben Foster wasn't playing for Watford all of the 2006/07 season in the EPL?Also, Rossi playing in serie A and Pique in the Primera with Nani and Anderson playing in the I Divisao.
