well who?, the only possible left-sided player in Europe that United can get as Giggs long term replacement in the near future is Downing. Since the likes of Cole, Robben, Duff, Vincente etc are either higly unlikely or impossible.Craig said:Well if he had acted quickly enough he might have got one.
He was sub (again) and come on for Reyes with about twenty mins left. Didn’t do much wrong or right TBH.aussie said:anyone say Real Madrid game tonight (or last night) English time. If you did how did Beckham look.
Vicente could be attainable, Valencia have young boy called David Silva coming through who looks the business. Also they have Jaime Gavilán another left wing wizard who did extremely well with Getafe last year. If the money is right and with Vicente's injury problems, Valencia would probably sell.aussie said:well who?, the only possible left-sided player in Europe that United can get as Giggs long term replacement in the near future is Downing. Michael Carrick, no?roseboy64 said:Priority is holding midfielder then forward. Anything else is surplus atm.
No.TT Boy said:Michael Carrick, no?
Considering Duff went for only 5m, I think they could have been able to afford the fee, however United would more of a rival to Chelsea then Newcastle are/will ever be, so they may not have been keen to sell, but then they were prepared to let him go to Tottenham so perhaps they would have (heard a priceless call by a 8 year old at the MU - Chelsea game last year, but if I said it I would be banned).aussie said:well who?, the only possible left-sided player in Europe that United can get as Giggs long term replacement in the near future is Downing. It would be for most strikers... but for someone rated as highly as Henry it's hardly amazing.Matteh said:That'd be the one i posted which Scaly didn't respond to. Henry's goal scoring record against the big four is still around one every other game. Which is fairplay.
Most strikers? So the Fowlers, Owens, Heskeys and Greenacres of the world would notch up a similiar record?Tom Halsey said:It would be for most strikers... but for someone rated as highly as Henry it's hardly amazing.
I've always thought Henry is a world-class player... not a world-class goal-scorer though.
Alan Shearer, only won 1 PL title, only scored a fair few at international level. Didn't score many in France 98. Flat track bully then IMO.Scaly piscine said:I don't check this thread that often and when I do I just read the last page. So I've not even read this chief poseur record against big 4 post.
It's easy to pick the big 4 over a certain period and include games where they were rubbish anyway, it doesn't change the fact that he's a flat track bully based on his international record, or the way he cost the CDMs the CL last season or the way he was poor against decent teams in the WC and he missed so many chances.
Erm no, he's far from it.roseboy64 said:Heinze's the only Argentinian successs so far.
