Difference being one of the 2 has scored good goals and not relied on tap ins.
Why is that important exactly? Explain to some one who doesnt know a lot about football. Goals any way they come are important to the team cause I would imagine. Also what makes Ruud get easy tap ins which Lampard who belongs to a superior team does not.

If team support was any thing, I think Lampard would be getting more opportunities being in a team like Chelsea. Or is it to do with the position they play in?

Lampard gets more chances than van Nistelrooy? 8-)
Did you not read my post properly?

I asked you why it is important how you score a goal.

I clearly stated I do not know much about football. If you dont want to explain to me, its fine.

At least do not show your immaturity by such replies.

It's to do with the fact that the van just stands by the 6 yard box and waits for it to come to him, while Lampard has to run around the pitch more, playing in midfield and having to deliver passes and making lots of assists as well as scoring.

Indeed. Ramsgate, of the Isthmian First [Non League Level 4] are still in (away to Nuneaton or Tiverton in the first round), whilst fellow Level 4 side Burnham (Somerset) have a replay against Canvey Island for the right to face Aldershot.
Just how many leagues are there past Nationwide Conference, Conference North & South, Ryman Premier, Doc Martens (what ever it is called), and the Southern League (might be called that I don't know or I might have skipped a league as well)?

So Lampard a much more useful player because he not only scores goals but also helps the team in the mid field. With all his work in the mid field, he still manages to create chances which Marc was referring to.

Thanks Jamee.

And old mate Teddy still keeps on bagging them in.

What is he 40? And still going strong then he is a deadset legend. At least James will be happy with that and the win over 'boro.

Forget Sir Les Ferdinand, how about Sir Teddy?

(and no I'm not trying to suck up to James :) ;p)

I think the other factor is that play in different positions. RVN is quite disceptive from what I have seen. He is actually quicker then what he appears to be when he is running.

Here's my best effort at a diagram of the pyramid - obviously I've not shown all the leagues as it gets incredibly fat as you go down to the bottom (step 7 has 42 leagues - county premier division). See www.tonykempster.co.uk for more information and detail. Some leagues drop directly from step five to step seven...

Yes he is - but he never spends enough time outside the box for it to make any difference. He's still never scored a goal from outside the penalty area for Man Utd - even bloody Owen scored a few from distance for Liverpool. He just has a bizarre knack of always, without fail, being the one the ball falls to in the six-yard box.

I certainly know who I'd rather have in my team out of him and Lampard (hint: it's the one who looks less like a horse).

so pace inside the area doesnt matter?

Not so much of a factor. Ruud doesn't need to use his pace. I have however seen him use it before. When he first came to England. Fact is Lapard is a midfielder and he does his job well. RVN is a striker and he also does his job well. As long as they score, doesn't matter to me if they're tap ins or blinders from outside the box. Very irrelevant IMO.

And what is the lowest league recongised by the FA?

The one that FC United play in?
