Burley is being lined up according to the paperazzi. Dont think he could get that bunch of players playing like a team though.

And for the Aussies Vince Grella played a full match for Parma in their 0-2 loss to Inter but Marco Bresciano was rested (didn't even sit on the bench).

Man utds midfeald was very poor today apart from Rooney and the occasioanl good piece of play from Ronaldo they had nothing. I will look forward to them going out of the competition early even if it is not next week. Villeral had them at arms length for pretty well the whole match

Liverpools win was quite obsurd and i think after two years of suprising winners we will be back to one of the best in team in europe actulaly winning it. They do have a brilliant strikeforce and when they come up against a truely class side they will go out. although i did say that about liverpool last year..........

What do people think about the suspension given to Middlesborough defender Abel Xavier (Xavier got 18 months) for testing positive to a performancing enhancing drug? Fair or harsh given the bans to Ferdinand and Mutu?

At 32 this is almost certaintly the end of his career.

I know he copped a nice little holiday after he handled the ball in the box (against SP's favourite team - France) and gave away the penalty which knocked out Portugal out of Euro 2000.

notice that alain perrin has been sacked by portsmouth today, not at all suprising if you ask me, although rather than sacking perrin i would say that mandaric has to take a look at himself in the mirror, he really has helped pompey out and worked miracles there, but the way in which he is handling affairs at the club at the moment really do question his suitability of being chairman imo. It will be sad if they go down as the south could do with some representation in the prem which will be lacking massively if they dont survive this season, which incidentaly wont be all that likely if they dont turn things around fast.

yes he has really made a mess of the job over the last year from when he stupidly pushed Redkapp out of the club over that director of football thing. Perrin was a strange apointment but he didnt give him all that much time and they are just left in a total mess
