Is Ruel Brathwaite another player who learnt his craft in the Caribbean, who will become lost to the West Indies? Like Chris Jordan, Maurice Chambers, Robbie Joseph, and Chesney Hughes before him? I see even cricinfo lists Brathwaite as an English player....

And that's to say nothing of players like Collins, who turned down an invitation to play for the West Indies in order to play as a Kolpak for Surrey, and then Middlesex.
You can have 'em all back except for Hughes TBH:)

More rain at Lancashire please, isn't much to ask for really:)

In that case, I'm voting for you, the next time you stand for ECB chairman....
Stoggler, Amjad is a Danish-born pacer who played one Test for England, bowled too many extras, and was then dropped.

A pretty frustrating last day of live cricket for the season for me today.

First session was not bad but was really looking forward to the afternoon session with the prospect of watching Jones (bowled three fairly tentative overs but far was starting to settle in) and Bell.

They went off for bad light for no good reason; players did not seem all that keen to go off but the umpires showed very little interest in getting any play, one of them was sitting a few seats next to us happily chatting away. We also have floodlights but they were not used for some reason. Rain came about an hour later anyway so did not really matter in the end.

Does make me wonder what has happened to Robbie Joseph - anyone know? - he still seems to be at Kent
Yes, he';s still here - had a few injuries this season though. Might be one who joins the expected exodus if the money runs out.

Sky must be hopping mad they opted to show the Lancs game and didn't send a camera and back-up comms to Chester-le-Street. Always a good idea to have a Plan B at this stage of the season.

Yesterday the wrong day to go to the rose bowl, would have been good to see Bell. Encouraging news though, fit and back form straight away.

Good ton for Hildreth today and Bratihwaite will be on a hattrick if Somerset bat again.

This : PJ Hughes b Maddy 11
Had me in stitches.

Oh and... Jones

Yeah great to see Jones back and taking wickets straight away, don't want to get hopes up too much but shows what we might have next season if we are lucky.

Why did my dad have to take yesterday off work and not today?

Great ton (in the context of the year, and history) for Hildy really, and would just like to add it wasn't at Taunton, mind you it was against a pish attack.

Would like DiVenuto out soon please:)

Looks like Somerset only have to avoid defeat, and Durham only 31 ahead aren't going to be able to set much of a target, unless of course there's some contrivance at Old Trafford tomorrow. 200 or so easy runs given, both innings forfeited, etc.

Were you able to watch Jones bowl today? Have to say that it is mighty impressive that he was able to end with figures of 4/60 in his first game in 2 years.

Nah only went yesterday so only saw him bowl 3 overs.

His run up is a lot shorter than it was but there is still some pace there and the ball was moving a fair bit for everyone. As I say he was a little tentative at first (which is entirely understandable) but by the third over he was looking good an obviously continued with that today, real shame I did not go today instead.

So Notts in a race to secure 6 bonus points for the title, seems like the scenario at present barring collapses elsewhere.
