Rain, and Warwickshire's tactics suggets a draw to me.

I can't see a retained title this season to be honest.

Well Hodge has been selected in the Ashes squad so that means we'll be without him for a while, he's missing the start anyway after a hernia op. With Murali not available for some of the season i can see it being difficult for us to get promoted, but i still just about back us.

Flinners scored a century from more than a run a ball in preseason but he didnt bowl or field and only jogged between the wickets

yeah nice one...hehehe..Mark chiltons XI vs Stuart Laws XI

from LCCC's site:
'Andy Flintoff eased his way back into action on Monday, hitting a century for Mark Chilton's XI in a pre-season inter-squad friendly at Old Trafford.
The England all rounder did not appear when it was the Stuart Law's XI turn to bat, but Flintoff's innings will be good news for England as one of their key players continues his rehabilitation from injury.

Flintoff's innings of 119 came off 99 balls and included seven 6's on a bright, if chilly, Old Trafford day.

Meanwhile Glen Chapple continues to receive treatment on the damaged hand he received in the match at Crosby last week.

"We will see how the injury responds to treatment this week." said Cricket Manager Mike Watkinson.

"It's obviously kept him out of this week's friendly matches, but it's too soon to say whether it will affect his chances of playing in next week's Championship game'

Flinners?! That's a new one!

Nice to see him do that.

I wouldn't be surprised that if he plays as a batsman in the early part of the season he'll get a shedload.

If it were anyone but Bangladesh he'd more than likely not be missing the May Tests.

Just as an aside - since he came into the team, he's missed all 6 Tests against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, all of which have come in his post WC03-period, anyone care to hazard a guess as to what his career numbers would be like had he played them when in such form?

Did a quick report on some of the more recent pre season games, obviously a bias to Kent getting the main reports but hey whats new

Oh and carry on that form boys, and theres me saying the batting was the weak link (Rich is aware that it was 2 games, pre season, nothing at stake etc :p )

Latest news in the Lancs camp is that Murali has arrived but unlikely to play in the first CC match. He'll play vs Glamorgan in the NL and then he should play all forms till he leaves in July. Hodge will also miss the first CC game with his Hernia, Chapple also probably out which leaves the batting abit short

Chilton
Sutcliffe
Loye
Law
Flintoff
Cork
Hegg (w)
Hogg
Mahmood
Keedy
Anderson

is a possible line up for the CC game.

the Lancs Glam NCL game is on TV, so a chance to see Murali's return from injury.

Trademark circumspect effort from Ian Blackwell, consuming 138 balls for just 191 runs...

None of the UCCEs looking stunningly good, which is good news for us...

bad day for Sajid, he took some pounding from Warks but Bell failed to shine. Intresting to see in Warnes column in the times today he says he is only going to bowl 'realy obvious' wrong uns to Peitersen in the nets so that he thinks he can pick them when he is playing for England

Quite annoyed to miss that actually.. Ill be snapping on Monday I guess

Nice to see Mahmood get tucked into, a very over rated bowler who shouldn't be in line for an ashes place.. But why oh why are UCCE games first class? Don't we go through this every season?

They aren't... just Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and Loughborough - who are respectable (well, more respectable than Cardiff and Bradford).

*Stops short of UCCE bias/geography rant*

geeeez that just side makes me want to smile :D , i think Lanchashire have a good chace of detroning Warwickshire this season they've got a pretty good line-up their even when freddie goes to represent england. But i think county cricket might loose a bit a spectators this season since the ashes are around.

By the way whats up with Hooper isn't he still with Lanchashire
