***Official*** English Domestic Season 2014

More fireworks from Sam Billings again 87 from 42,Sam Northeast and Fabian Cowdrey with handy knocks too. Kent have a real good young side with Daniel Bell-Drummond and Adam Riley too...

Have to say I have been impressed with Worcestershire this yeatr, Darryl Mitchell has been superb and if he was playing for a london team he would be in the lions squad.

Aqmal was brilliant, Moeen deserves a big run for England and is doing well
Credit to Worcester. Even without Ajmal you've done well. Just shows that there's some good coaching going on because there seem to be some quickly improving cricketers. Cox has come on quick. Kohler-Cadmore started the season looking poor but has soon found comfort at this level. Plenty of others improving.

Clearly Ajmal massively helps and an overlooked factor would be the lack of injuries to worcestershire bowlers (andrews aside) which will be somewhat to do with Ajmal and the overs he bowled and the rest that allowed the seamers. Still the squad as a whole has markedly outperformed what most (including myself) could have predicted.

Billings putting together a few good scores now and quick. Struggled this season upto a couple of weeks ago but nice that Kent persevered with him and hopefully now he's starting to find his legs in first team cricket.

Good to see the loan system working well also with Rossington doing well out of his move to Northants.

Every day that goes by without an announcement on a Will Gidman contract extension is tough from a Gloucestershire perspective. He's also showing a very useful side to himself in the middle order as a one day bat which will make him all the more enticing to other teams.

Massive win for Essex, 12 overs to spare thanks to a Jesse special and a near run-a-ball 84 from Westley.

Yes I agree about Mitchell, only 30 too, first to 1000 runs this year wasn't he? Should have counted for something.

And Billings is starting to come good yes, Kent's treatment of Jones this year has been poor though. With all the cricket a county plays across the formats there seems no reason why he hasn't played a single first-team game. They didn't even give him the one-day game against Sri Lanka, surely Billings could have had one night off?

Tie at the Oval - but that was a missed opportunity for Surrey. Needed 16 off the last over and Ansari began with 6, 2, 6.

Really like how Hales has gone about his business this year (besides the Ben Brown spat).

Roy/Hales have to be around the ODI team. Peter Miller on twitter saying a legitimate argument could be made that this top 6 stronger than the top 6 we will start with in Australia.

Don't totally agree, but its beyond dispute that this top 6 is scoring 300 + more often than our normal top 6. Probably getting skittled more often as well though.

Bopara is playing today so he would be in the 2nd as well as the first.

Also only mentioned the top 6:
1. Hales
2. Vince
3. Moeen
4. Patel
5. Roy
6. Bopara

Would do for me actually. **** it, our ODI cricket is not suited to Australian conditions, might as well have a dart with a few who are.

Oh yeah, that guy. NZ U19 watchers are already familiar with Fisher's relentlessly good line and length.
