Flintoff showing plenty enough with the ball to justify his place tbh, 3 for 26 from his 4 overs today including a couple of crucial wickets coming back at the end. I'm sure people want to see him smash it around but I think the value for Lancs in the comeback has always been his bowling, and at the death in particular.

Yeah Flintoff has done ok so far, batting 8 is perfect for him because once in a blue moon he might rescue them from a precarious position or hit a few bombs in the last over but isn't relied upon at all.

Yes, retired hurt I see. Not serious I hope?

It does seem to be a basic design flaw if a ball can get through the grille of a helmet though.

Busted nose apparently, from a fairly vicious David Willey delivery. Not sure how that will work out.

Agreed, seems pretty stupid in design.

It's not really the helmet manufacturers fault though - they have adjustable settings for the grill and generally you'll find that "out of factory" - they're adjusted to not let the ball through. Batsmen change it around.

As much as I love Lewis Gregory, I do have to wonder if wickets against Northants should count in your figures.

Odd that Colchester was completely rained off and everyone else got a full day. The Test was very lucky to miss the rain too - although perhaps that wouldn't have been the worst thing.

Broken cheekbone and Nose for Bedwetter. Bit gutted actually, got tickets to Surrey vs Somerset at the Oval on Weds night, and was looking forward to Kies having a hit. Hopefully I'll finally get to see KP play live though, that'll make up for it, especially if he gets a score!

Mark this post in your file'o'faxes for it may never be repeated.

I just checked the Essex scorecard and Saj Mahmood's figures are an incredible:

0.5 - 0 - 1 - 1

Yes, that's right! A positive contribution from Saj!

Almost as shocking as seeing him playing in a first class game again.

And, in fact, it had been 0.3 - 0 - 0 - 1. WOW! (it must be the baking soda).

Jesse Ryder is opening the bowling and getting wickets people:-O
he's been taking wickets all season but flopping with the bat. somehow english cricket has made him a bowling allrounder.

you've performed this magic trick on franklin and jeets too. what do you put in the water over there?

Isn't KP playing the Windies now?

He's in London atm, so hopeful that he's going to play. Didn't play for St Lucia a couple of days ago, and did say that he's going to try and play the whole campaign for Surrey. Surrey wouldn't exactly miss him if he didn't play though tbh, 67 runs in 6 innings is pretty dire output. Hopefully Wednesday will be the day he comes good!

Mahmood got 3 wickets..did go for 4.5 an over though but still, Hampshire should be ashamed.

Our innings went as per the rest of the season, we have fought back a bit with the ball but already a 30 run deficit and 2 wickets left, Adams will probably smash a 50. Can see us setting Notts 150 to win or something.
