Cook & Bopara must be loving the fact that Pettini invited Middx to bat at Lord's today - currently 198 for 3.

Another useless ***** batting display from Durham, all getting in then all getting out to nothing bowlers.
Keedy isn't a nothing bowler, and Parry's actually looked decent so far in his career, albeit in OD cricket. Wouldn't be surprised if the pitch is a turner, after all with pretty much all our pace bowlers out we're hardly going to prepare one to Durham's strength

Disappointed Lancs felt obliged to borrow a bloke who can't get in Derbyshire's side - I know there's an injury crisis but based on his exploits with his club I'd have thought he'd be a decent punt as 3rd seamer

.................... and as for Keeds being a nothing bowler .... contender for the Oval IMO

Shame the warm-up game against Australia is only two days, not much chance for a spinner to impress the selectors.

Durham have got some pace resources that they can afford to leave out Mitchell Claydon. Whenever I've seen Claydon his looked very impressive, tall, strong and very lively. Only 26 as well, so he definitely has the opportunity to go on further. Would have thought he would have enjoyed OT as well.

Another to add to the list of the retiring - and Angus Fraser does an excellent roundup in Wisden these days - Jason Gallian is calling it a day at 38. Past his best when he joined Essex but had a few good days last year, not many this season. They've also released James Middlebrook who at 32 may have time to succeed with another county - although a look at his record, which suggests a poor man's Emburey, doesn't inspire confidence.

Disappointing debut by Sreesanth, needs to keep it tighter than that if he wants another shot at Test cricket. Three Division One wickets is a solid start though.

Gallian should never have left Lancashire

Wouldn't bank on it - if a nothing bowler like Keeds can get a 6fer then Blackwell will doubtless go through us like the proverbial ........................

Scaly, why haven't you lambasted the Lancs batsman for getting out to a real nothing bowler in Blackwell?

James Benning not offered a new contract by Surrey. It was only two years ago he was touted as a possible England opener. Some comedown.
