Carberry making sure of a draw for hants with his 4th century of the season, has also gone past 1000 runs for the season. Game was always destined for a draw but not for the first time this season we have failed to claim maximum bonus points due to poor batting in the first innings.

Should replace Cook for the next test.

John Crawley to retire at the end ofthe season. Another loss, another unfulfilled at test level. Was gutted when he left Lancs. By far the best player to go to my school ftr
I remember reading of a MGS top 4 of Crawley J, Atherton, Crawley M, Yates - is it right these 4 future FC players played together at school? If so, a pretty rare if not unique occurrence I'd have thought

Possibly, Yates, Atherton and Crawley the elder definitely would have, and John would have been in 4th year when Yates and his brother were in their last year so they may have played together.

England will not and nor do they need to replace Cook, good argument for him replacing Ravi though, would rather see him than Key that is for sure.
Cook needs a kick up his ass though. What is his series average? Lower than 30, I would have guessed. But he will get a pass because the failures of Ravi and Bell are far more obvious.

Yeah Cook has been a big dissapointment and not just in this series but as you say he England will not want to drop 3 batsman for the same test. I think Cook is doing just about enough at the moment, he is just about a solid test opener, it is just a shame that he is not more than that.

Can't believe Lancs are going to borrow Lungley. Why do we always head to Derbys for players?

Well done Durham openers, blaze through the ****e seamers then get out to a old county pro finger spinner before lunch on day one. ****ing idiots.

Hants in a massive game this week, a win and we should stay up fairly easily lose and we are in a spot of bother. 92-1 at lunch is not bad but I am always worried about the batting when Carberry doesn't make runs. Tremlett fit though, need a big performance from him

it is a bit of a joke, at OT we should have just gone in with Newby, Hogg, 2 spinners and Croft. That said we are missing Chapple, Mahmood, Cheetham, Smith and the two with England plus 2 of seamers from the academy are injured.

Hants middle order failing again 154-4 now, need another ton from Adams needed and more runs from Ervine. If only Pothas was due in next. Am clinging to the fact that Yorkshire put us in and that we had such a low scoring game as Basingstoke last year.

Concerned by the number of wickets and runs Luke Wright is getting.

Anyhow, Rob Key has laid down his marker with 90. Over to Ravi, Bell, Trott and Joyce...

Any idea why Onions is playing for Durham but Harmison isn't?

And does anyone know why Rashid isn't playing for Yorkshire today?
