Its a miracle, both our openers have got into double figures
Experiment over. Flintoff out for 12.Flintoff at 3...itstl
Really like being wrong sometimes. With the way most of our games have unfolded so far this season I expect these two to put on about 4567 runs before the next wicket
Chawla is doing magnificantly, this is a great sign for Indian cricket. County cricket hasn't seemed to 'help' him, per se, he has done well from the start, but still an encouraging sign.Another 5-fer for Pushy!
Somerset effectively 347-9 with a day and a half to go....
Edit: 6 for Pushy and Sussex need 349 to win. I've got my fingers crossed that we'll put up a better performance than we did first time around. Massive game, this, and it's hopefully shaping up into a good one.
Should be at 9 to be honest, Chapples a better bet than him at the moment. Failing that, 3 is definitely better than 5 given Prince has gone and Loye is opening, neither Laxman, Croft nor Du Plessis is a number 3Surprised Flintoff went in at 3, would have no. 5 would perhaps have suited both Lancs and Flintoff more. Long way back from here for Lancs.
And this after Flintoff came out to the media saying that Harmison was close to unplayable against Lancashire. This is encouraging signs for England but I doubt England will take the risk with Harmison when they have a settled attack of Anderson, Broad, Flintoff, Onions and Swann with Sidebottom as the reserve (seam) bowler. However, Harmison's recent form may edge out Sidebottom for that spot as he has shown little FC form.Five for Harmy...
Very talented but reckon that the English batsmen simply cannot currently pick his googly. How good is Chawla :o
They had something like 9 seasons (if you include his time at Somerset, Slurrey and Sussex) to learn to pick Mushy's googly, and they never managed it.Very talented but reckon that the English batsmen simply cannot currently pick his googly.
Oh my, was not aware of that. Chawla will continue to clean up if the English county batsmen are that slow on the uptake as it is his main (only?) wicket taking weapon and a fine one at that. They had something like 9 seasons (if you include his time at Somerset, Slurrey and Sussex) to learn to pick Mushy's googly, and they never managed it.
To be honest I think any of them would be a better shot at number 3 than Freddie. If Tom Smith can open the innings, then surely one of those three specialists can go in at 3.Should be at 9 to be honest, Chapples a better bet than him at the moment. Failing that, 3 is definitely better than 5 given Prince has gone and Loye is opening, neither Laxman, Croft nor Du Plessis is a number 3
