Couldn't agree more although I do wonder whether Lancs sorry performance doesn't say more about the bowling than their batting - if Joseph is England qualified I hope it does

yeah but the point is Loye and Chilton haven't shown any form in the seconds but get put back in, Smith was in decent form at Leicestershire and Brown is the top scorer in the second XI, they could hardly have done worse

Serious deterioration of the season from Lancs. Looked good when we had Flintoff & Anderson; surely we must have realised that we need to plan for when they inevitably aren't there, particularly Flintoff as at the start of the summer Anderson was no means a cert for England selection.

Surprise surprise the second team score 300odd for 4 with Brown and Mullaney top scoring, First XI get rolled (again) will they get a chance in the firsts? no chance, more jobs for the boys. Watkinson still calls 25 and 26 year olds youngsters.
Du Plessis gets a 3 year contract despite average little more than 25 in first class cricket and is referred to as a youngster. Mal Loye is averaging 8.58 from 12 innings this year, why is he in the side?
