I couldn't think of anything original (like Shaggy Alfresco's Location: Location, Location), so I had nothing.

Saw Simon Jones in action today on the News, looks like his return to first class cricket is on track.
I thought it was on track last season too... well, no, it was on track... but it only lasted 2 games...

I'll wait a bit longer before being convinced this time.

8-) :)

I was never convinced last year, like you Jones needs to play cricket for a sustained period before any questions regarding his fitness can be put to bed (which they can't considering the chronic problem apparent within his knees). I merely posted on Jones because the story was repeated on TV and doubtlessly will be in the papers tomorrow.

So do we think Jones has a chance of playing against India later in the summer? Or is it best if he gets a full season of CC in him, and then maybe he can go to Sri Lanka and New Zealand next winter?

Or perhaps I'm getting a little ahead of myself

I'll be interested to see how Ireland go in the 50 over competition given their performances in the World Cup.

Given that O'Brien and Rankin are unlikely to be in their line-up, you'd imagine rather less well...

TBH, Jones and domestic-First-Class cricket have never mixed. I'd pick him for the First Test if he lasts the time between now and then. He might do well, he might not - there's only one way to find-out. He's never totally convinced me as a Test bowler - I wait to see.
