I don't know what is up with Kent's bowling attack in this game, they are getting slapped all over the ground.

Di Venuto's a pain in my arse.
Joseph's having a nightmare of a game, 8 overs for 62 runs in the first innings (7.75 rpo) and now 22 runs of 2.1 overs (10.15).

Well, from the looks of things, he's gone off injured now. Either he's been bowling with an injury, which would explain his performance, or he's been so poor that Keysey's instructed him to fake an injury and go off so someone else can finish his over for him. It's a shame, because he's a good bowler, he's certainly better than what he's shown so far in this game.

Mind you, everyone's coming in for some treatment at the hands of Di Venuto. He's been awesome. Still a pain in my arse though.

he's been absolutely brilliant (527 runs and counting in 6 innings)...as a Durham fan, long may it continue :)

I see Collingwood's got his half century, 52 of 37, with 7 fours and a six...let's hope he makes a big score today

Five cheap Worcester wickets for Hoggy! He must be about the only England regular who takes enough wickets in county cricket to qualify for the end-of-season averages.

Hoggy, Hoggy, Hoggy!!!

What a legend, seriously this bloke is a gun, all hail him and Yorkshire. Worcestershire 77/7, the fools. Definetley invoke the follow-on.

All you need to do for that is bowl a single ball.

True, I meant in the main county list, not the 'also bowleds.' Minimum 10 wickets, as a rule.

Though I see Harmison has taken 15 CC wickets to date. Both showing the benefit of a decent break.

Sure Harmison has bowled well, but you can't set too much stall just from a few county matches in early season, when the pitches are taylor-made for a bowler like him.

The CricInfo proper list simply lists anyone who's bowled. And IMO that's much the best way, not using one of these "cut-offs".

Well, as a general rule, the pitches in early season are green right?
Well, the pitch he's bowling on in this match, both teams scored 400 runs in the first innings. So I don't think you can call that tailor made for fast bowlers (although he did take 4 wickets)

You mean Hoggard, Harmison is not a green damp overcast swing bowler and these wickets are not particularly to his suit for they are lacking in pace and bounce. And the notions of early spring wickets being green is pure romanticising and rather clichéd for the wickets at The Oval regardless of the awful weather hasn’t got a hint or tinge of green on it.

Very disappointing day for Kent today - the only bright spot was creeping up to 400 to get maximum points, which should have been done with ease given our overnight position. Then more wayward bowling, too many extras given, and by the looks of things, too many boundary balls served up. Add in sloppy fielding (Benkenstein dropped on 10 by VJ, Di Venuto dropped badly by Jones on 28) and it's been pretty rubbish. Might need rain to come to our aid tomorrow to escape with a draw. I'm not impressed.

There's just no such thing as a wicket that suits Harmison (except a terribly uneven one, but that suits anyone who picks-up a ball) but you're right about the fact that early-season=green is nothing but a theoretical trait and not true every year.
