In spite of the fact he seemed to score the majority of his runs by running it down to third man?
When did that seem to happen, then?
I assure you, he has most of the strokes (cut, coverdrive, flick through mid-wicket, pull).
You can't have seen him bat well very many times; and his average shows he has batted well many times.

Khan / Treadwell

Hopelessly Wayward... you are talking about Khan here aren't you  - He is not hopelessly wayward the guy took 70+ wickets in his first full season and backed that up with 50+ last season. He has a Econ of just over 4 which isn't that bad and a S/R of the mid 40's.

A.Sheriyar however last season was hopelessy rubbish, could be confusing them.

Treadwell has great potential but I agree he still has development to go, he has good matches and then bad matches... but I would still take him as one of the better spinners in the country.
Personally I wouldn't say Tredwell is anything special - but no, I haven't seen him bowl more than once.
Sheriyar was a very good bowler indeed at New Road but I never thought he would be at The St. Lawrence Ground.
But Rich, come on - 4-an-over, not bad!????? It's terrible!!!
I'm assuming you're talking First-Class cricket here?
And it's quite tricky to confuse a right-armer and a left-armer, really.;)
Khan really took 50 FC wickets last season? That one sure crept up on me. His average is hardly impressive, though, is it?

No, his average shows he's scored runs in County Cricket - that doesn't mean he's batted well.

i dont rate dawson one bit he doesnt spin it much and he just doesnt make anything special happen
No, but he is a surprisingly good one-day bowler.
Hence I hope we don't get rid of him. We should never have released Fisher either - he was good in one-dayers too.

Like it or not, it does - because to score runs in county cricket is something not much of The World's population could do.
Maybe it doesn't mean he's batted well by international standards, but county cricket is a very good game by the standards of most cricketers.

I only got interested in County cricket when I started playing ICC ( I had to know about who I was playing with)......but I am a little confused....I thought only one international player was allowed in each county squad, now there is two? When did this happen?

Thanks for that. But wouldn't it be demeaning (don't know if this is the right word for it) to the english county players to have 2 internationals in their squad that might make big runs and take large bags of wickets.....although not all internationals are that good....

You should never have released Middlebrook either. :D
It was indeed a strange one - Middlebrook spins it more than Dawson (though only a bit) and is a better batsman - yet we kept Dawson.
Maybe it was just sympathy. You'd lost Peter Such and we thought we'd give you someone who could be nearly as good as him.:D
Still, I wish we'd kept Fisher and released Dawson. Or kept them both, if that was possible.

A timeless debate.
I'm sure there must be a massive thread on it somewhere.
