*Official* English Domestic Cricket 2012

Anyone else think it's been a disappointing summer for the england lions guys in general? No-one has had that great a summer.

It hasn't been easy for the batsmen but still most of the guys have been pretty average and seem to be going in the opposite direction to the test/odi team. Stokes, Buttler, Taylor, Vince, Hales(99apart)

Root is probably the only one who has enhanced his reputation off the top of my head. Compton has played great but he only made the lions side on the back of his performances this season.

Of the bowlers Dernbach has had a stopstart season. Meaker has been inconsistent but put in a couple of exciting performances. Woakes has been injured for a decent part of the season but as always has been excellent in 4 day cricket. Briggs and Borthwick have had it tough with the weather but neither looks to be improving. Brooks has been decent. Buck has been injured but crap again since he came back. Coles did well at the start but his performances have tailed off.

It's been a horrible summer with the weather but still it's been disappointing for england imo.
Yes they've almost reflected the weather we've had this summer, stop start, some good patches but mostly ****.

Hildreth's had a pretty decent year after the poor one he had last time and might get a look in for the Lions side. You could add James Harris to the list, who like Woakes seems to be in and out of the side with injury. Jack Brooks has had a good season so far, got 27 wickets @ 20 in first class cricket.

I wonder if they'd be tempted to give Denly a go in the Lions, he's had a very good year so far for Middlesex, averages 57 with 2 tons.

Finally play is underway at Old Trafford. Good effort again by the ground staff, to make the outfield playable after yet more heavy rain in the Midlands and North West today.

I'm sure a helicopter is faster too, but he doesn't take that.

What a bum.
We don't need to go across miles and miles of wasteland to get from city to city. He doesn't need to get a plane, he's not going form Sydney to Perth FFS!

FTR, if he was to get a commercial flight to Manchester it would probably take just as long as a train would.

Saw a Prem player getting the tube back from Highbury to **** Fosters about a decade ago.

Matty Holland of (then) Ipswich, ftr. Solid unit in real life, broad shoulders. His official height of 5' 9" exaggerated tho. If he's 5' 9" I'm about 6' 6".
