Glamorgan doing their bit for Simon Jones, making his figures look less exceptional by each bowling ****e.

I'm kinda surprised that Majid Haq of Scotland never got a chance in county cricket as he always seemed a decent spinner bowler and a useful lower order bat.

Rain at Edinburgh - I wonder if Scotland are ahead of the D/L target. If not they may regret making only 15 from their last four overs.

Scotland won.

Netherlands on course as well. Just 60 odd needed from 10 overs with 9 wickets in hand.

I was thinking earlier that with Scotland and Holland taking part (and even Glamorgan to an extent) - this thread should probably be called "European Domestic Cricket" rather than what it is..

Ireland should take part as well. Most of our players are already signed to various counties though (our good players anyway).

Hmm that would be interesting if they pick Shahzad and Mahmood together.

Lancashire aren't short on bowling and I think on merit Shahzad would struggle to get into the side. Someone who's a bit erratic and takes wickets at over 30 isn't ideal for the low scoring games Lancashire tend to have. Really you just want some plodders to bowl line and length and the batting to manage more than 150. Doesn't really make much sense other than the fact that the Yorkshi*e hatred might fire him up into performing well again and it stops someone else getting him.

Bizarre decision, we have too many bowlers already, unless they think Tom Smith is going to be out for a long time, but even then Luke Proctor and Kyle Hogg are probably bettter options for us than Shazhad.

Share the surprise about this, given how impecunious Lancashire claim to be, but I think it could be a terrific signing - Shahzad clearly needs a bit of help between the ears, but from what I've seen of him he has a lot of ability so I'm hoping Moores and Chappy are the men to coax the best out of him

We currently have Glenn Querl playing for our second XI as well, bowling average of 13 WAG, would prefer his teamate Crystal though

I agree.
Smith is out for 3/4 weeks.
Would Yorkshire pay his wages?

Chapple, Hogg, Smith, Mahmood, Procter, Newby, Tahir, Shahzad (Junaid Khan, Arafat)

Maybe they picked him for his batting.

LOL big surprise Neil Fairbrother has got him a gig at Lancashire, that will please some at Yorkshire who've moaned for ages about Shahzad having him as his Agent.

Simon Jones got some tap at the Rose Bowl I see, 54 off five overs. Odds on him playing the next game? And why does his team-mate Alex J Jones appear in that form on scorecards? (first noticed this last year) It's not as if Glamorgan have another AJ Jones in the squad and have to distinguish between them.
