Harsh on Ponting whose fc stats are impressive. While his listA is disappointing Surrey wouldn't have been doing their homework if they expected much out of him as T20 player.

Maxwell has talent but yeah, his form's been poor.

It was a point about the T20, if that wasn't obvious my apologies. Obvioously Ponting is still a massive +ve in first class cricket even if he has missed quite a few games over the formats with injury/illness. His and Maxwell's form has been poor in the T20 but as I said you wouldn't drop either as they both improve the team.



Ben Stokes with a couple over 90mph yesterday and although he was smashed he didn't actually bowl that bad. Bowled two or three decent yorkers but Lumb was in insane form. Unfortunately Stokes' batting seems to be going in the wrong direction. Got out to a horribly messed up attempt at a scoop/ramp which he spooned to point. The way he is going he could be an international no.7. Credit to Lumb though he's improved massively in the last year or two imo to a standard where at county cricket he is outstanding and even at the international level he is decent.
