The umpires and players all want an early knock off so they will go off for bad light the first chance that they can get, Nasser pretty much said as much.

They need to think about the spectators though that paid good money to watch a full day's test cricket and then get short changed with an early finish.

Sri Lanka look a bit demoralised now, but unlike last week, where he just looked vulnerable all innings and then eventually holed out to the one guy on the off-side, he looked much more in control and just played each ball on its merits, so much for feeling the pressure!

Very positive by England today except for poor Dan who looked so uncomfortable, and strangely Root who couldnt score and eventually holed out, but really another 3 gifts to a Slankan bowling attack which didnt use the conditions. England were dominant so why give the opposition a chance?
Thats the diff between us and the top 2 teams. We have shelled a lot of catches this summer too, hasnt mattered usually cos another chance comes along, but its different when we go abroad.

Most runs for England at #3. Think pope's doing fine. Pope obviously has flaws (nervy starter, not been great vs spin in asia) but the constant aura around his discussion of "Hes a few bad games away from being dropped" is crazy, especially given what England had before him. People forget dawad Malan,or johnny bairstow at 3 getting bowled through the gate over and over in Asia.
