*Official* England v Ireland Test

Good opportunity for Potts after a promising last Summer. He's started the season well, so should be in good nick. There's a good chance he'll play at some point in the Ashes, as it's probably not likely Anderson/Broad/Robinson will play every Test. Tongue ahead of Woakes is interesting, but maybe it's just a one-off horses for courses to get a look at Tongue - impressed with the Lions last year. Not exactly in good CC form though. Sam Cook unlucky as always.

When is the next lions fixture, FYI? Really wanna see Sam hain get some gametime and make runs there so he can't be ignored. If England don't want him the Australian team will gladly take him.

He’s from the GC and might not get a game for Queensland

Another Sam Robson

Jeez Broad looks ordinary. Going to be a horribly long season for England fans. They'll be lucky to beat this mob based on what we've seen so far.

Broad getting pasted so far by this renowned Ireland line up. Looks old and stiff as a board. Appropriate the advertising boards are for Radox.

And he’s the younger of the two bowling hopes for the Ashes. Grim times indeed for Team England. 4-0 Aus looking a conservative call on my part based on this 17 minute showing from the home side.

Christ son don’t review that. Missed a straight one. That’s the end of former Canterbury-Bankstown chief executive Peter Bullfrog Moore.

Still pretty bewildered about the Tongue selection. Not sure what the point of the County Championship is if 11 wickets @ 41 in division two gets you a test cap.

He'll probably bowl superbly here now, though.

I doubt Murtagh is in the squad.
Had to give up Irish cricket a couple of years ago because ECB rules meant that he would have to play as an "overseas" player for Middlesex. He chose to keep Middlesex contract because it was worth more money for him than Ireland contract. I personally think ECB was wrong as in no other sector of employment in the UK (due to the Common Travel Area agreement) are you allowed to disenfranchise Irish Citizens from being able to pursue employment opportunities.

On to the game, early wicket but not much movement at an overcast Lord's.

I feel like Potts has a bit to offer but is generally bowling about a foot short. Won’t be helped by getting driven there as he’s pitched one up. Poor shot for the second wicket but a big favour for Aus with the catch going to Crawley, that’ll keep him in.
