Crawley's strike rate of 300 thanks to his 12 off 4 is the joint second highest ever by an opener in an innings. The other two cases are also, strangely, both 12 off 4 balls exactly (AB de Villiers in 2005 and David Warner in 2011).

The higher strike rate ever by an opener is Aamer Sohail's 400 when he hit 4 off 1 ball to beat England in 1992. The bowler was Mark Ramprakash, who had doubled the length of the innings by opening with a wide.
