6 no balls and a wide...and a wicket from Scrimshaw's first two overs.

Poor lad looks distraught.

Congrats Scrimshaw. It's a tough game this, but you will be rewarded tho.
4 overs for 11 after his first two shockers, including another wicket. I have no idea whether he'll prove good enough at this level, but at least he's clawed it back towards respectability today.

England made pretty heavy weather of that but I don't think Potts or Scrimshaw are ever going to play many one dayers. England needed a good performance from Rehan as he's clearly the next cab now if Rashid gets injured/retires/declines.

A patchy performance with rough areas at the end of England’s innings (as the senior team did too a couple of times against New Zealand) and at the start and end with the ball but in the end comfortable enough. Vital experience though for an inexperienced team some of whom haven’t played much 50 over cricket at all.

19 runs off the first over is the most England has ever scored in the 1st over in ODI cricket
Seems quite surprising with some of the fast flowing starts we've seen from Hales/Roy and Roy/Bairstow.

Just looked at our record breaking knock against the Netherlands last year and we were 5/1 after the second over, yet still posted 498.

I think GIMH wanted his own private thread for this series, maybe we should just leave it to him.

Everyone knows it's not an *Official* thread unless GS Kohli starts it.

Eng today 107 / 2 power play✍

New Zealand scored the highest runs in the first powerplay in ODI cricket. ❤They scored 118 runs in the first 10 overs of their innings on December 28, 2015, against Sri Lanka at Christchurch.

The team hit eight sixes and 11 fours during this period maintaining a staggering run rate of 14.16 during this period.❤

he, the umpire or captain should have suggested he set his bowling mark again after the second. maybe embarrassing but less so than bowling more, and gives the excuse he got his mark slightly wrong PLUS basically act as a startover, feel as if he's just about to bowl not just bowled carp
