allow your man Sammy3 series wins in a row now in T20s (South Africa, India, England).
Definite progress in this format since Rovman took over the captaincy.
Fair, he knows his T20 stuff.allow your man Sammy
Agreed. If we were still playing Cariah instead of Motie, I'd go as far as to say we would have lost. Motie is a world class spinner.Difference was probably the experience/performance of the second spinner here. Rehan didn't match up rashid like motie did with hosein. Helps that the windies didn't collapse, but if rehan had kept the pressure on, gone at an econ of 6 instead of 9 and taken a wicket in that middle phase, the england pacers would have had alot more to work with in the back end. There's never any scoreboard pressure when you walk in the back 5-6 overs with the requied run rate at 6 an over.
How does motie's batting go? Remember him making a really quick 100 in a fc game earlier in the year, but not sure how he goes in limited overs stuff. In the post-post match interview with Sammy, he clearly mentioned that he was out looking for leg-spinners in the CPL, but the respective teams which had those leggies didn't play them much. So, he went for the next best thing: Motie.
I'm a big proponent of playing your best players...regardless of their discipline.
Motie being a world class spinner/cricketer is not one to ignore.
Disappointed to lose but not too disheartened.
It’s a bilateral T20 series you oafSiri, show me why England has such a mediocre sporting culture...
I think this one was probably won with the toss. England couldn't work out what was a decent total on this pitch. They were playing for 200 when really 150 would've sufficed. As a result they lost wickets and went nowhere. I suspect whoever was chasing would've won this.Difference was probably the experience/performance of the second spinner here.
