And the International Year of England Not Winning Things ends on yet another triumphant high. Congrats to the players, administrators and fans on not just continuing the long and proud tradition of English sport, but consistently taking it to new depths of abject mediocrity.

Fair, he knows his T20 stuff.

From an England perspective, there is no shame in losing to us in a T20 series. I actually expected us to win the series when it started.

It's the 50 over defeat that's more worrying as we are all kinds of woeful in that format.

Difference was probably the experience/performance of the second spinner here. Rehan didn't match up rashid like motie did with hosein. Helps that the windies didn't collapse, but if rehan had kept the pressure on, gone at an econ of 6 instead of 9 and taken a wicket in that middle phase, the england pacers would have had alot more to work with in the back end. There's never any scoreboard pressure when you walk in the back 5-6 overs with the requied run rate at 6 an over.

Agreed. If we were still playing Cariah instead of Motie, I'd go as far as to say we would have lost. Motie is a world class spinner.

I like Rehan though, I'm glad he's getting this experience.

In the post-post match interview with Sammy, he clearly mentioned that he was out looking for leg-spinners in the CPL, but the respective teams which had those leggies didn't play them much. So, he went for the next best thing: Motie.

I'm a big proponent of playing your best players...regardless of their discipline.

Motie being a world class spinner/cricketer is not one to ignore.

How does motie's batting go? Remember him making a really quick 100 in a fc game earlier in the year, but not sure how he goes in limited overs stuff.

I think this one was probably won with the toss. England couldn't work out what was a decent total on this pitch. They were playing for 200 when really 150 would've sufficed. As a result they lost wickets and went nowhere. I suspect whoever was chasing would've won this.

Standard tour of WI though, generally rubbish, get close to victory but ultimately lose. A shame that Turner never got a game, what was the point in taking him? We kind of know what the other quicks can do.
