IDK about livingstone at 4 here. Would have sent in curran like they did earlier in the series. Livingstone does bat 4 in the IPL I guess, but I think you get more out of him walking in closer to the death (correct me if im wrong on that).

Salt needs 7 runs in the last match to clear 300+ runs in a T20I series, outside of the world cups I can't imagine that's been done before

Edit - Kohli got 299 and 296 runs in 2 world cups but never cleared 300

So Salt would be the first
Not quite right. 6th to do it, first to do it in 5 innings and he has the most runs of anyone too.

I just feel like england and buttler aren't flexible enough in how they use their players in general. Dhoni and CSK use moeen brilliantly and move him around as a spin hitter. Similiar situation when curran was at CSK and they got the most out of him. England have 4 frontline bowlers, and curran-moeen-livingstone-jacks to get overs out of in the top 7 if one of the frontliner's has an off day. They need to be more flexible in how they use their resources in the batting lineup when they have that amount of allround options available and in the side. Livingstone should never be walking in after 2, and then 3, quick wickets, and being expected to knock it around vs spin in the middle. That's not his game. Curran/moeen would be better suited for that, and are both more adept at hitting particular types of spin so they can force bowling changes in that middle section. More often than not in this situation livingstone is just gonna get stuck and bring the crawling rate to a halt.

Just a hunch but does LL chew up a lot of deliveries without scoring. 28 from 29 with two sixes suggests a lot of dot balls. I get the feeling this is a pattern.
