Your right in what you say, but knowing the WI selectors Simmons will be making his Test debut in the first Test, not that it is the right thing. Anyway two questions for you Liam, is this Barath chap worth his salt as an opener and do you have a better fast bowler to replace Daren Powell?
Can't definitively say anyone who's better, but I can list a few who can't possibly be any worse IMO:

Andrew Richardson
Jason Bennett
Deighton Butler

Regarding Barath, he's a quality batsman with a range of strokes, but is a bit vulnerable to pace early in his innings, which isn't a great thing for an opener. :p That said, he doesn't appear to have any glaring flaws and looks to have composure far beyond his years. Let's keep him away from Tests for now though.

Latest i heard is, Cook got a duck, Strauss 55* and Bell 49*. Bell dropped btw, straightforward chance

Looks like we're stuck with Bell for the test series.
ha, Bell gets his 50 and gets out. Hopefully Shah gets a ton...KP in, Wallace got Bell out, interested in following his career...obviously he should be behind Dave in the pecking order but he's one for the future maybe?
West Indies A ultimately failed in their cunning attempt to ensure Bell-end plays the tests then...

Interesting days play but this ground is a bit of joke. The boundaries are so small that miscues can literally fly out of the ground. Fascinated to see what KP’s strike-rate will be
112.50 at the moment and should have his second ton of the tour by lunch.

CricInfo's outdone CaribbeanCricket then. About time too. Tired of the substandard CricInfo overage of tour matches in the Caribbean.

Pietersen out for 90 btw and Strauss for 97.

261-4.

KP gone for 90 (strike-rate 126.76) to Jaggernauth. Strauss also out in the 90s (97). Colly and Shah in. England 261/4.

Big knock for Shah.

To be fair on Shah, if you're getting out to Amit Jaggernauth you have nothing to worry about when you face the West Indies proper. They're unlikely to actually play a spinner as good as him.

Jaggernauth actually being in the Test squad negates that argument mostly.
