I think you're counting world class chickens based on talented eggs.

You'd have a point if i actually SAID they were "world class", i said they HAVE THE POTENTIAL to be top class, there's a difference, and if you think my notions are wrong then what do you suggest?.

Just restricting my comments to Bravo, I think that to describe him as "top class" as a bowler is a little on the optimistic side. He averages nearly 40 in Tests.
That will improve, the bottom line is when he's in the mood he's as dangerous as a lot of other top class bowlers.

If you watched him last summer you'd have seen a lot of the improvements you're outlining in that post. In Tests, not ODIs. He worked hard and was pretty impressive in 2008, rarely encountering swinging conditions too.
I did actually watch every match in the English summer, and at times he would, but there was spells where he'd get tap. Hasn't had the ability to do it consistently, also, in NZ he was getting some extreme tap.

hmmmm....

Who's weak in the bowling line-up?, i'd say Taylor and Bravo are top class, Edwards on his day is fantastic too, maybe it's too soon to judge Benn but i think he was decent towards the end in the 20/20 games in NZ and he's carried on that form into this series, if he keeps that form then the spin department looks very good with Gayle alongside him. how would you change the bowling line-up?, because i wouldn't mess with the batting line-up down to Ramdin, i think it has the potential to be excellent.

Don't really know about Bravo as a bowler, I keep getting different impressions from, him; he has the ability to reverse swing the ball and has an accurate and well disguised slower ball and bouncer. Don't think I know the role of Bravo though, spells like the twenty something long over one in SA have me start to think that he's just a bowler to keep things tight but everything mention above gives the impression of a strike bowler.

Tbh he is a fifth bowler and nothing more, nor will he develop to be any better I don't think but just interested to see what people think Bravo's role is, Colin Croft always said a strike bowler but I am not so sure.

I get the impression his batting is more useful than his bowling these days. A very handy all-round player, but basically a supporting medium pacer.

hmmmm....
"hmmmmm"?, so "top class" means "world class" now?.., imo top class means they are capable of playing brilliant cricket on their day i.e Sarwan, world class are the one's who do it day in day out i.e Chanders. that's the difference imo.

slightly strange logic there surely the highest class there is (the top one) is World class... subsequently, World class = Top class

Well you've got cricketers who are inconsistent so i'd put them underneath the world class players, like for so long Gayle was just erratic, even though everyone could see he had all the shots in the book, so he was top class but now he's starting to think a little more and get 100's i'd say he's moved into the world class bracket. but that's just my way of looking at things i'm not forcing anyone to agree with me.

sweet avatar, sweet game rose boy, how was atmosphere at the game... interested to hear accounts other than Mikey Holding's...
Atmosphere was decent. Was in the Party Stand so lots of vibes where I was sat. Loads of beer, hot and ***y women, fun, great music and nice cricket.

Quietly a fan of Broad for the future and I've made some pretty big calls on how the West Indies will do this series.

If I had money I'd probably have made a few bets but I have a Bond to pay for.

Well, I had a brilliant day bet on Gayle to get first century in match, I was loving it when he just passed Sarwan... that was brilliant.

How was that paying?
Not bad, got on Gayle at sixes on betfair after Pietersen got out... for twenty pounds... not sure what currency NZ use but I returned £100 which is quite a lot for a sixteen year old who has to use his brother's account as he's too young and then has to insist to his mum and dad that he is not wasting the money he earns baby sitting on betting.
