*Official* England in West Indies

WI took the wrong approach....

and almost paid the price.

oh well. I guess congratulations to them - anderson's bowling in this game is a testimony to why actually watching a game instead of going by stats/viewer opinions alone can make a huge difference.

I'm not going to disclose how much money I DIDN'T just lose thanks to Fidel but the feeling of relief is truly epic!

yeeeesssssssssss it's over and the windies win the series!!!. unlucky England fans!! :p .
Well played Windies. Enjoy the win, it's well deserved. Let's hope that now the monkey is off your back you can play the sort of attacking cricket you used to. And let's hope for a good series in a couple of months round our way :)

no chance of that. WI have three world class players in sarwan, chanders and gayle. they have three serviceable ones in ramdin, nash and taylor. edwards blows more cold than hot. the rest are ****e. they dont have the bowling to be consistently threatening.

Absolutely deserved by WI insofar as any side bowled out for 51 and then fails to finish the job in Antigua deserve nothing. Great day's play though.

Pondering the winners & losers in England's side this series ..

Winners - Strauss, Collingwood, Swann & Broad. Probably Prior for his batting. And Bopara, although it won't get him in the side yet.
No change - KP, Cook, Anderson, Flintoff
Losers - Bell, Shah, Panesar, Sidebottom & probably Harmison, although GBH's standing may have improved for missing the last 2 games.

Looking ahead, 9 of the side are dead certs for the start of the home series. We just need to find a number 3 and another quick from somewhere.

So happy for Windies win. No doubt that England went into this series as the favored team but somehow WI, the underdog pulled thru. Not really optimistic about their chances in Australia and England but then againt they did win a test in RSA not too long ago so there u go.

I think it's only fair to say Sulieman Benn won this series.

Or perhaps more accurately, Ryan Hinds, as he survived most deliveries this innings.
Nah, was Benn. The most unexpected edge West Indies had.

Word out to Graeme Swann, who finishes the series with 19 wickets from 3 games @ 24. Unbelievable effort from him considering he missed the only test where he would have had the slightest bit of help.

as much as I'd like that to happen... I don't think so. I honestly cannot see them taking twenty wickets in Pakistan, India, Australia or even England.

Not that much, but you're not too far off, that's an awfully specific number?
You're rather Rodgie-esque?

(The specific number is because it was a rank guess, and I like to give really specific numbers when guessing as I may be miles out and thus I'm largely joking)

Nice one  , and i completely agree, the monkey is off our backs now and hopefully the confidence gained from this win can take things to another level, i truely hope this is the last time i see the likes of Powell in the side, and hopefully youngsters such as Darren Bravo, Adrian Bareth and Devandra Bishoo will get a chance, it's exciting times for us imo, as for England, i just feel you lot thought it was gonna be a walk in the park but it didn't turn out that way, once you get the new coach i'm sure you'll give other teams a fight, there's some proper top players in that squad so it's bound to happen.

Yup - one of several less-than-great calls by England / Strauss over the last few weeks.
wrt WI, this defeat has been largely self-inflicted.

Nice work!

I kinda ballsed up here . But luckily I more than won everything back immediately by snapping Australia up for their series at the unbelievable price of 3/1.
