It seems England are still somewhat susceptible to a lolapse despite the encouraging recent performances by the middle order and Cook.

Balance won't last long here. Begging for an inside edge to just balloon up into the arms of a close in fielder.
I dont have an issue with it. Bat out in front of the pad was the technique before covered wickets and when the ball was turning in square.

I can't imagine that's a surprise to anyone who's been watching over the last few years. Root was due a failure. Ballance wasn't 100% fit. And Cook hasn't exactly been rock solid, despite his fine effort on Day 1. As for the rest ....

Bell's really outdone himself on this tour, hasn't he. Must be averaging about 30 in five innings despite a first score of 140 and 3 out of 5 innings being on roads. 4 really, as the pitch was at its best when he played his first innings here.

Moeen isn't a test number 6, even if he might hold down a place as our best spinner.

And that's before you wonder exactly what Moores was trying to achieve by picking Trott as an opener.

Goodness alone knows how this lot will attempt to cope with the Australian attack. If Root and Ballance fail, we'll struggle to make 3 figures every time.

What the hell happened last night.
Came to ask the same question.......WTF??

Haven't seen a ball of the test (nor series for that matter).......is it a tough wicket to bat on, exceptional bowling or what?? 18 wickets for the day......whats with that?

My boi Blackwood was paying $8.50 to be the highest scorer first innings. Get in! Although I did go for Darren Bravo too, who didn't look like he wanted to be out there.

the thing that the windies have going for them is if they get england out for even 300 they will have two whole days to chase it

No way are the Windies chasing 360 odd to win this test (and no way are England scoring 300 in this innings tbf)

I'm hoping Eng can claw their way to around 200 and a lead of 250 and I reckon we'd be safe.
