Actually I don't think he'll play.

For me:

Trescothick
Vaughan
Strauss
Collingwood
Flintoff
Clarke
Read
Giles
Anderson
Gough
Kirtley
giles wont play in a 30 over slog fest...blackwell will get the nod.
and harmison will play instead of kirtley,i dont think the selectors are going to keep someone in such good bowling form out.

Hmm... 30 overs, fun fun fun... I expect Flintoff and Gayle will be the key for both teams, a pity Lara's not playing, I would love to see him bat with a licence to slog.

I wouldn't agree with Butcher's paragraph either.

It seems the guy is particularly scathing on older players and rather lavish with praise on others.

In that team suggested by Mark Nicholas, why is Strauss battign at 7? Isn't he an opener?

my guess is that it is because the game has been reduced to 30 overs..get the big hitters further up.

Looking forward to seeing a quick fire 100 partnership between Flintoff and Blackwell...

my guess is that hes more of a defensive player and not really suited to batting in the 30 over game.then again he shouldnt be playing then

Great start for England...gayle out 7/1 in the 5th...Powell in now...could see some fireworks..or we could see 7/2 :D

Chanderpaul is having an absolute nightmare.

Wow, while I'm typing this, the crowd comes alight as Chanderpaul mortals Harmison for 4 and 6 off consecutive balls. Was having a bad time of it before those.

England still on top IMO with the scores being:

West Indies - 60/3 (17 overs)

Chanderpaul 22* (56 balls)
Smith 13* (15)

Flintoff bowled really well from what I hear, and he's 'an angry man' quoting Mark Nicholas so could bode well for the batting :D

64/4..Smith out...WI would do well to get to 140, which i dont think will be enough..but we shall see

As I click 'Submit', Flintoff takes a good catch to dismiss Smith off The Clarkester.

Score Update - 65/4 (17.5 overs)

Tresco bowling now......maybe he has given up on the batting and is going to try and become a full time bowler :D

R.Clarke comes into the attack and gets a wicket stright away with Fredy taking a good catch at short-mid-wicket.

Trescothick bought into the attack now.. iam guessing it's take the pace of the ball, without risking a spinner on the short boundaries.

68/4 From 19 Overs

Can someone tell me why Rikki Clarke is playing for England?

I sometimes get the impression that the administrators of this glorious game actually try to look like feeble idiots...

Wouldn't mind seeing this attempted leg-cutter Trescothick bowled. Sounds hilarious.

Rikki Clarke is a player for the future I reckon. Though for the life of me, I can't figure out why Graham Thorpe isn't in this England side. He's in the top 3 batsman in England and if you are that good, why isn't he playing?

Chanderpaul has opened his shoulders a little now.

Cricinfo has completely messed up for the moment but Chanderpaul has got 50* off 72 balls.

21.3 Collingwood to Joseph, SIX, fuller length delivery outside the off
stump, Chanderpaul moves forward an tries to sweep it fine, ball
takes the top edge and flys over the short fine leg fence,
extraordinary !!
