Glued feet shots would suggest he's not coming down the pitch, which Cricinfo suggests he is.
most of those shots have to do with his confidence....hes confident that this pitch isnt going to provide enough movement to get past that outside edge.
how long is it going to be before collingwood establishes himself as a genuine no 4 batsman??

Where's Ricki I hear you cry? Is Ricki not a slogger?

Hmm guess it is something to do with his performance in 1st ODI and also the way Trescothick is playing.

Rather silly shot from Ricki.

Reverse sweep in the penultimate over of an innings, can't see the point myself.

England 268/7 (48.5 overs)

281-8 is a fairly decent effort for mine - fingers crossed, Harmo and Goughie can get Gayle and Lara early and from there we should win.

By the way, how tall is Chris Read? If he can hit so many sixes, he may have a good build, to match his sense of timing. Might come of some use when selecting a wicketkeeper who can bat

Pretty short.. no taller than Pete, 6'1 max.

Not so short if you look at it from Indian or Lankan standards- that is quite tall! For instance, Parthiv Patel is only 5'4"! No wonder he can't hit the big shots well, though he is a good defensive batsman. Of course, Romesh was an exception, but he never got too many runs, though he attacked a lot. Thanks anyway.

Is Clarke actually any good? All i've seen of him has shown me otherwise, yet the selectors seem to persist, another case of ECB incompetence to me, they don't want to admit they're wrong. He's got to stop all these sweeps unless he actually hits a ball!

I was looking down on him (only in literal sense) when I spoke to him at the testamonial match so I'd guess he is about 5 feet 11 inches, if that.

Apparently, Harmy has a 9 run average and Anderson has a 4 run average. So I guess so? Not sure on how they fare in County cricket.

EDIT: On the topic of player height, anyone have a clue on both Gayle and Chanderpaul? One was walking well behind the other on the screen but looked a good deal taller. Gayle was the taller one.

A question for the English folk:

Is Harmison really a better batsman than Anderson?
I would back Anderson to stay in longer than Harmison but I would back Harmison to hit the ball harder and further should he connect - both are about as likely to connect.
