They likely won't be dropped. The main problem being that come the tests vs the Windies they'll likely rack up 600-2 in non spinning conditions and no one will talk about the problems against spin.

Strauss's days are certainly numbered. I wonder if he will go out after the SA series. I don't think they'll struggle as badly against the SA seamers (as awesome as they are) as they have on these pitches.
I'm sure that Flower won't make wholesale changes, especially as we're already looking for a number 6. Agreed about Strauss calling it a day after the SA series, unless he plays a blinder against them. He's not daft, and he'll know better than anyone that his game isn't what it was.

Dunno how the middle order will go against SA. I think these series have highlighted mental frailties as much as anything, which will still be a problem when the pressure's on in the summer. I remain convinced that the lack of adequate preparation for these tests has been astonishing. None of the top 7 have had any sort of game-plan whatsoever.

EDIT
There you go - Strauss has no idea at all of anything between blocking and ODI-mode against the spinners. Ditto most of them, actually.

KP in, to face Herath first up. Oh well, it's a nice day, the garden is beckoning. Too early for a beer?

There's something perversely entertaining about watching these collapses as an England fan. A year ago I would switch off and go out for a walk in the sun or do something productive.

Now I kind of enjoy watching just how ******** our batsman can be. Can they outdo themselves in terms of pure retardation? They never seem to disappoint!

Probably - even the ones who we thought could play this stuff reasonably well have deteriorated as the winter's progressed.

It does beg the question of why they're so hopeless. Even recent times have given us guys like Thorpe and Trescothick who could do a more than decent job against better spinners than Herath. Nowadays there appears to be no-one who has a clue. Perhaps playing a large chunk of the CC in April & May to make room for the 2020 stuff hasn't helped. Beyond that, we really need to stop penalising counties who proiduce a wicket that takes turn before Day 4. Actually, we should reward them.
