That dinky little dab down to third man gets Root out far too often in Tests. Needs to be much more judicious with it.

Incredibly soft from all 3 of the fab 4 who were in action today. Especially KW and Joe Root. Very disappointing ways to get out for batsmen of this class.

Root is similar to Vince in that his best scoring shot also seems to be the shot that costs him his wicket most often. Root running the ball down to 3rd man off the face of his bat and Vince the cover drive

Haven't been impressed by Nortje. Rabada has been expensive but he has created chances. Faf really does need Maharaj to keep an end tight.

The best thing about Denly is he is almost like Trott/Cook in that he just carries on at his pace and doesn't try to match the shot maker at the other end which some of our players do.
