I can't understand what bairstow needs to do to get more of a mention. He has proven himself to be class bat for both county and national teams over the last 18 months. Sometimes think him being able to keep works against him as the only position he gets considered for is keeper/batsmen, whereas I think he is good enough to bat in our top 5

All well and good but when he's been given a go as a specialist batsman he's been a spud.

That's not a magnificent line at all. Millionaire Ishant Sharma doesn't keep his hairstyle and crooked teeth without being firm on what he wants to do, but people still crap all over him for his choice of looks. Obstinacy is not necessarily a virtue.

The problem is he averages 26 at 5 or 6 in tests. I think he's worth a shot at 5 again, but I'm personally not 100% convinced he's got a good enough technique to score regular runs against the top test attacks.
