12 wickets @ 29. Would say that is a more accurate reflection of him at the moment.

He was, in fairness, bowling to very good batsmen on some of the roadiest roads to ever road.

Far too much is made out of his Ashes record in rating him overall, disregarding the fact that though he was clearly not bowling to his potential he was still picking up regular wickets, and he was clearly not used to bowling in English conditions.

EDIT: I do think Pattinson has more potential, but then again I've been saying that since his second Test.

Yeah, he is clearly a good bowler with a lot of promise. New McGrath tag doesn't do him any favours though (which isn't his fault clearly).

I couldn't imagine the Australians being in quite such a good mood in a similar situation. It would be all sullen body language and grumbling, and quite rightly so.

Stunning win. We needed to win this series. Just performing wasn't good enough, we had that in UAE but this win is huge. Root proving his class abroad rubber stamps his credentials as well.
