Meanwhile, Bairstow knocking it around at c4 an over, batting beautifully, and nobody is saying a word.

Two options for England:

Just bat the whole innings out - get all your runs in the first knock.

Hammer down and look to declare, or be dismissed, about 40-50 minutes before tea. Give a totally demoralised batting line up a nasty half hour or so and the opening bowlers a quick pre tea gallop.
